Below are some of the audited results(full year) for selected companies with dividend declared and the dates of closure of company register.

Nigerian Bottling Company
The makers of world renowned Coca-Cola did not really impress shareholders in its 2006 results and this is presently affecting the share price on the floor of the exchange.

The company turnover grew by 7.76%, from N55.4 billion in 2005 to N59.7 billion in 2006. profit after tax declined by a whooping 52%, falling from N2.3 billion to N1.1billion. At the end of the financial year, Earnings Per Share(EPS) stood at N0.85, while a dividend of N0.30 was approved. The register closure date if you want to partake pf the dividend is April 14, 2007.

AG Leventis

The turnover of the company increased by 1.43%, from N7 billion to N7.1 billion in 2006. profit after tax also increased from N343 million to N395 million in 2006, an increase of 14.9%. The full year EPS stood at N0.18, while a dividend of N0.10 was approved. The company is likely to begin manufacturing of generators here in Nigeria, and this will boost its profitability in the nearest future. It would interest you to know that Nigeria is the largest importer of generators in the world at present.The register closure date ids May 14, 2007.

Oando Plc
This was indeed a good year for the downstream player in the oil sector of the economy. profits grew by 85.4%, from N1.5 billion in 2005 to N2.8 billion in 2006. The full year EPS stood at N4.90, while proposed dividend is N4.00. This implies that they are paying about 80% of their earnings as dividends this year.The price of its share on the market has been on the steady increase since the results were released. The register closure date is April 30, 2007.

Ecobank Trans- International

This is the first time the company would be paying dividends and a good one for that matter. The company posted a profit after tax of N8.7 billion in 2006 as against N5.3 billion in 2005. The full year EPS stood at N9.66, while proposed dividend is N5.06. The register closure date has not yet been announced.
