The slogan “…in your best interest” is indeed living up to its expectation as Zenith Bank Plc increased its profit before tax by 59 percent from N11 billion to N17 billion in its 3rd quater.

The bank made gross earnings of N62.6 billion in the said quater as against N42.1 billion in its previous financial year. Profit before tax like earlier stated increased from N11 billion to N17.6 billion in its 2006/07 financial year.

After tax deductions, the profit stood at N15 billion as against N8.8 billion in its previous year. This corresponds to an increase of 69 percent which is impressive.

The company which opened this year at about N25.00 has hit an all high of N50.00 and is still climbing. Investors are of the opinion that the company will give bonus issues this year as it has never done so since it was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
