Airline Services 3rd quarter result causes rally in share price.

As more and more results continue filtering into the investing public, prices are beginning to rally points daily, as the general mood of the market is improving gradually.

Airline Services plc and Nestle plc recently released their quarterly results, which infact has already started causing ripples as more investors are scrambling for the shares of these companies amongst others.

Airline Services Ltd

In the result released for the 3rd quarter ended September 30, 2007, the main highlight was the profit increase in after tax profit which was in excess of 120 percent. Company turnover grew by 56 percent, from N1.60 billion in 2006 to N2.49 billion in 2007.

Profit before tax soared northwards, from N0.15 billion in 2006 to N0.32 billion in 2007, while after tax profit climed from N0.14 billion in 2006 to N0.31 billion in 2007.

The company was listed early this year on the floor of the exchange and has been the toast of many investors since then. They operate in an industry which is more or less monopolised by them.

 

Nestle Plc

The company, with shares rated as the highest in unit price also released their 3rd quarter result for the period ended September 30, 2007. In the result released, turnover grew by 10.78 percent, from N28.25 billion in 2006 to N31.29 billion in 2007.

Profit before tax increased by 20 percent, from N5.97 billion in 2006 to N7.17 billion in the corresponding period of 2007. After tax profit inched by 20.42 percent, from N4.05 billion in 2006 to N4.88 billion in 2007.

The company has declared an interim dividend of N1.75 per share while register closure date has been put at November 23, 2007 and payment date at November 26, 2007.
