Nigeria stock exchange : Prestige Assurance Plc and Nigeria Breweries release results.

Prestige Assurance plc and Nigeria breweries have released their unaudited third quarter financial result on the floor of the Nigeria stock exchange.

Prestige assurance plc has also released its unaudited third quarter result for the period ended 30 September. 2007. In the result released turnover increased to N1.849 billion from N1.070 billion recorded in 2006 indicating a 72.8% increase, profit before tax rose to N0.409 billion as against N0.278 billion recorded in 2006 showing a change in percentage by 47.12% and profit after tax stood at N0.278 billion as against N0.189 billion achieved in the same period in the preceding year.

Nigerian Breweries

Still on results, Nigerian breweries has released its unaudited third quarter result for the nine months ended Sept. 2007

It declared a total of N17.9 billion as profit before tax representing a 42% increase over the N12.6 billion which it declared as profit before tax for the same period in 2006. It made a turnover of N77.5 billion representing a 26% increase over the N61.5 billion achieved for the corresponding period of 2006. The company’s profit after tax for the period under review stood at N12.0 billion showing a 42% increase over the N8.45 billion recorded in the preceding year.

The board of directors of Nigerian Breweries is of the opinion that the positive trend in its just released results is likely to continue for the rest of the year given a stable busi ness climate.
