Firstinland Bank Plc Public Offer review

By Tunde Brown

Firstinland Bank Plc is the result of the merger in December 2005, of four Nigerian Banks namely: First Atlantic Bank Plc, Inland Bank Plc, IMB International Bank Plc and NUB International Bank Limited. The 2-year-old bank whose total assets and contingents stands at N275 billion as at April 2007, was quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on the 27th of June 2006.

Firstinland Bank Plc, on the 3rd of January 2008, commenced its public offer in which it is inviting the public to “share in its future” by buying into its 5 billion ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N9.50 per share, and 4 billion irredeemable non-cumulative convertible preference shares of 50 kobo each, also at N9.50 per share. This is one of the few offers in recent past opting for the preference shares alternative for raising funds.

The irredeemable non-cumulative convertible preference shares has a tenor of seven (7) years, with the conversion option exercisable between 30th April 2010 and 30th April 2015, subject to the 30% of nominal value of total holdings per conversion. The preference dividend is at a fixed rate of 9.25 per cent.

According to the prospectus issued by the bank, the monies realized is meant to upgrade information technology infrastructure, renovate its head office and extend branch network, recapitalize and further develop its subsidiaries and boost working capital.

The bank unlike some other players in the industry has not enjoyed the affluent bottom-lines others have within the short period of its listing, but has paced going by the various performance indices in operation and profitability. The forecasted earning per share of 92 kobo and 182 kobo by April 2008 and April 2010 respectively, are rational based on the fact that given a boost in the funds deployed in doing business, coupled with a promising performance tempo, it is set to make an impact within the industry.

I bought public offers with first inland Bank plc, since Jan/Feb, 2008. Please what is delaying my certificate, please issue me my certificate or you pay me back my money. If u fail to do so i will report you to EFCC, i will give your report to radio Lagos Agidingbi, Eko FM to help me announces that Firstinlnd bank PLC has involve in fraudulent, because your bank use my money to invest you never bother to issue out certificate of payment. You quote a word that “share in our future” now u ar the one sharing in my future by embezzling my money. Firstinland bank will pay for it because you will implicate your bank name.

I will be waiting for your response till December 31st 2008, as from your resumption date in january you are resuming into battle

    Thank you.

Hello Everybody.. Please Read Carefully.. Its not firstinland bank who handles anything pertaining shares certificate… Its already their Registrars and all you need to do is drive your car or take a taxi to their Registrars Office which is
    FIRST INLAND REGISTRARS LTD
OKOI ARIKPO HOUSE 5, IDOWU TAYLOR STREET VICTORIA LAGOS

Kindly Email me if thats enough to help you.. oboh_lucky@yahoo.com

  40. The Helper ( Oboh Lucky ) on January 5th, 2009 10:42 am

Hello My Fellow Investors The Helper is here to help you.. If you’re 100% serious about getting your shares Certificate Kindly go to Firstinland Bank Registrar with either your identity card , Payment receipt and application form which you used in buying the shares in January which i’m sure you did a photocopies for future purpose.. Or If you didn’t do a photocopy then go with your identity cards there and collect your share certificate. Their address is :

    FIRST INLAND REGISTRARS LTD
OKOI ARIKPO HOUSE 5, IDOWU TAYLOR STREET VICTORIA LAGOS .

Investors should’nt be worried about shares certificates or Dividends thats why the use of CSCS account and E-dividends is important. My Advice is : Go to a stock broker and Open a CSCS Account and when next you’re buying shares you should fill up the space where CSCS Account Number and Stock Broker Firm is Required on the Application form. Also fill in the space where it indicate for bank name and account number. Reason Why you should fill in your CSCS Account is because your share certificate would be sent to your CSCS Account Number Electronically and your Dividends will be sent to your bank account Electronically… Your Troubles of not getting certificates or dividends would be less because you can call your stock broker and bank to confirm if your certificate has reflect in your CSCS Acct and your bank if your divided as been deposited …. So Life is easy with no fears of loosing… With Your CSCS Account selling of shares is easy because keeping a certificate at home is not adviseable . You can Monitor the increase of share price and selling of your shares will be instant with a CSCS Account . GTI Stock Broker Finance at Allen Round About is a good stock broker.. thats what i use… If this has done any help to you then kindly let me know by sending me an email oboh_lucky@yahoo.com
    Cheers.
