Nigerian Stock Exchange: Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, R.T. Briscoe Plc declare results.

Dangote sugar refinery Plc has released its audited results for the period ended 31st December 2007 to the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Comparative analysis of the result and that recorded in the same period in the preceding year has shown that the results were impressive.
Although turn over for the period wore a negative look the company was able to improve its profit before tax and after tax profit. A detailed breakdown of the result showed that turn over decreased by 3.72 percent from N83.76 billion in 2006 to N80.64 billion in 2007.
Profit before tax for the period increased by 80.04 percent from N16.65 billion in 2006 to N30.66 billion in 2007. Profit after tax for the period appreciated by 28.94 percent from N16.65 billion in 2006 to N21.47 billion in 2007. The company has proposed a final dividend payout of 50 kobo per ordinary share and a bonus of 1 for five.The closure date is 24 - 27 March 2008.

R.T. Briscoe has also released its results to the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The company released its full year results for the period ended 31 December 2007.
In the results, the company was able to increase its turnover for the period by 23.4 percent from N13.16 billion in 2006 to N16.23 in 2007. Its profit before tax moved up by 20.7 percent from N0.745 billion in 2006 to N0.889 billion in 2007. After tax profit for the period appreciated by 14.7 percent from N0.531 billion in 2006 to N0.609 billion in 2007.
The company has proposed a bonus issue of 1 for 4, its closure date is March - April 4 2008 and payment date is April 25, 2008.
