Nigerian Stock Exchange: BCC & Unilever Nigeria Plc declare results.

Benue cement company plc one of the gaints in the building materials sub sector of the Nigeria Stock Exchange has made public its financial result for the full year ended 31 December 2007. According to the results the company experienced a decline in its turnover as it droped from N6.029 billion in the same period in 2006 to N5.473 billion in 2007.
Profit before tax also decreased from N3.860 billion in 2006 to N1.870 billion in 2007. After tax profit was no good either as it fell from N3.105 billion in 2006 to N 1.252 billion in 2007. The company has settled for a bonus payout of 1 for 8 and its closure date is 25 March 2008.
Unilever Nigeria Plc
Unilever Nigeria plc has also made public its audited results for the full year ended 31 December 2007. The results appears impressive as the company was able to increase its turnover for the period from N25.554 billion in 2006 to N33.990 billion in 2007. Profit before tax moved from a loss of N2.120 billion in 2006 to N2.013 billion in 2007. After tax profit increased from a loss of N1.374 billion in 2006 to N 1.296 billion in 2007.
