The market recorded 16,891 deals against yesterdays 18,164 transactions; share volume of 476,095,970 worth N8,464,305,462.64 was traded against yesterdays 634,635,352 unit shares valued at N12,531,298,384.35. While the Market Capitalisation also nose dived to N11,756,459,123,831.65 against yesterdays N11,810,293,949,173.95. It is not very clear why all the key market indicators went down but some analysts believe some heavy investors are simply pooling out of the Nigerian secondary market
Universal Insurance again topped the activity chart as: UNIVERSAL INSURANCE traded a volume of 75,243,611 unit shares worth N240,423,698.33; INTERCONTINENTAL BANK came second with 41,629,949 unit shares worth N1,884,920,538.57; OCEANIC BANK is third with ,289,237 unit shares valued at N544,761,160.59; GUINEAINSURANCE sold 18,636,995 shares worth N70,434,235.80 to come fourth; while ACCESS BANK is fifth with 18,570,630 unit shares worth N401,371,441.29
For the price gainers in descending order: (1) ETI gained N10.58 to gain N239.99; (2) TOTAL gained N10.00 to close at N245.00; (3) FLOURMILLS gained N3.10 to close at N91.60; (4) OANDO gained N3.00 to close at N231.00; while (5) MOBIL gained N2.08 to close at N272.10.
On the other hand, the top losers in descending order also includes: (1) CHEVRON lost N10.00 to close at N280.00; (2) CAPPA & D’ALBERTO lost N5.65 to close at N107.35; (3) CONOIL lost N4.00 to close at N130.00; (4) JULIUS BERGER lost N3.10 to close at N99.00; while (5) NESTLE lost N3.00 to close at N277.00
