The market showed some stability with regards to yesterdays All-Share Index and the Market capitalisation as both remained stagnant at 59.663 million and N11.534 trillion respectively. A total of 17,963 deals was recorded as against yesterdays 17,963 deals. A volume of 810.208 million unit shares were traded at a total value of N14.010 billion as against yesterdays 689.904 million unit shares value at N12.201 billion. Todays trading with respect to increased activity level, generally indicates a better future for the bulls as prices will likely pull up again.
The market activity was led by the banking sector, led by FIRSTINLAND bank having traded 160,114,981 unit shares worth N1,748,468,252.58; second was UNIVERSAL INSURANCE with
90,547,444 unit shares worth N272,481,095.77; third was UBA stock trading 59,661,255 shares worth N3,201,510,532.15; fourth was ACCESS BANK which traded a volume of 41,507,915 unit shares valued at N773,197,517.55 ; while TRANSCORP came fifth on the activity chart, trading 30,390,467 unit shares valued at N90,682,741.10 .
The top gainers chart shows that: OANDO ranked first after gaining N8.00 to close at N229.00; second was ETI that gained N3.49 to close at N249.99; third was NIGRERIAN BREWERIES which gained N2.00 to close at N51.00; fourth was DANGOTE FLOUR gaining N1.33 to close at N27.93; while AFRIBANK gained N1.05 to close at N25.94 to occupy the fifth position.
On the other hand the losers chart shows that: GUINNESS lost the most by losing N129.51; second worst loser was WAPCO for shedding N2.84 to close at N54.02; third was ETERNAOIL for shedding N1.80 to close at N34.20; fourth was ARBICO which lost N1.47 to close at N28.04; while fifth was FLOURMILL which did better by losing only N1.42 to close at N87.92
