The Nigerian Stock Exchange has since Tuesday this week, continued to favour the bulls, cumulating into todays market All Share Index remaining at 62,387.44 base points same as yesterdays closing figure. The total volume of shares traded today was 581,106,932 unit shares valued at N9,545,603,782.12 in 17,665 deals as against yesterdays 801.308 million unit shares traded at a value of N18.6 billion in 19,809 deals. However, the Market Capitalisation went up to N12,060,882,911,515.80 as against yesterdays 12.060 trillion. The Nigerian secondary market has suddenly retraced its path to what it used to look like in the earlier period of this year in terms of the two key index: “All Share Index” and “Market capitalisation” .

INVESTMENT AND ALLIED INSURANCE a company whose shares were listed for the first time today on the Nigerian Stock Exchange also topped the activity chart by trading a volume of 60,210,000 shares valued at N81,885,600.00; second on same activty chart was UNIVINSURE with 48,380,316 unit shares, valued at N145,017,805.76; third was AFRIBANK stock having traded on 27,879,997 unit shares, valued at N713,732,695.51;
fourth was OCEANIC with 27,041,988 unit shares valued at N789,800,189.61;
while the fifth position was occupied by STERLNBANK trading on its 26,447,712 unit shares, valued at N201,809,440.37.
The price gainers chart in descending order shows: (1) ETI gained N3.50 to close at N250.50; (2) MOBIL gained N3.01 to close at N228.01; (3) ASHAKACEM gained 2.07 to close at N43.52; (4) DANGSUGAR added N1.69 to close at N35.83; (5) PZ gained N1.37 to close at N28.93.
On the other hand, the price loosers list in descending order includes: (1) CHEVRON loosing N14.66 to close at N293.26; (2) BAICO 10.46 lost closing at N4.74; (3) UBA shed off N2.29 to close at N56.60; (4) GUINNESS lost N2.10 to close at N127.01; while UACN lost N1.75 as a better looser to close at N46.50.
