Nigerian Stock Exchange: recently released results.

Continental Reinsurance Plc.

The half year unaudited results just made available to the market shows that turnover during the period increased significantly by 128.32 percent from N1.123 billion recorded in 2007 to N2.564 billion in 2008. Profit after tax experienced a growth of 85.86 percent from N0.665 billion in 2007 to N1.236 billion in 2008. After tax profit stood at N0.927 billion as against N0.499 billion recorded in the same period in 2007 showing an increase of 85.77 percent.

African Petroleum Plc.

Results for the company’s half year ended 30 June 2008 shows that it grew its profit after tax by 80.34 percent from N2.152 billion in 2007 to N3.881 billion in 2008. profit before tax was N4.851 billion as against N2.532 billion recorded in the same period last year, showing a growth of 91.59 billion. Turnover headed northward by 65.41percent from N48.818 billion in 2007 to N80.751 billion in 2008.
