Public Offers.

From time to time news in the media are about companies intending to go public, either by public offers or a combination of rights issue and public offering. Normally the interest of investors are awakened especially when the company which is seeking for funds is known to deliver good returns to it’s shareholders and it’s management is sound.
Public offering is one of the ways a company uses to raise funds from the general public. The need to seek for funds may be borne out of the companies desire to expand its infrastructure, expand its business, carry out new projects e.t.c all aimed at bringing pofitable returns. It is no news that some investors shy away from the secondary market because of the little fees charged by stockbrokers to carry out business transactions. Such investors wait for opppurtuinities for companies to go public and take advantage to swoop on shares of the company.

Stock pundits have come to realise that it is such investors who always have issues with the verification of their share certificates as they are faced with the problem of engaging a broker. A school of thought is of the the view that such investors buy shares without proper understanding of how to go about it. They say such investors collect their share certificates and keep them safely because to them the hard copy is their asset.
While buying in public offers is a good idea, certificate verification is a must in order to have control over your shares. The services of a broker is an inavoidable need. When share certificates are issued the next thing is to contact your broker so as to process them for verification and clearing. It is after this is done that you have a grip on the shares you have acquired as without verification you can watch your shares grow or fall without being able to trade on them.

If d stock market closes does this not mean dat investors money will be trapped,so 2 speak? How long wil it be closed? Is there any hope dat d stockmarket wil improve? As it is closin down albeit temporarily is not confidence inspiring. Perhaps its best 4 a shareholder 2 liquidate her shares presently!?
