Today being the first trading day of week three saw the market closing higher at 29,073.73 basis points, as against last week Friday’s closing at 28,866.80 basis points. In spite of the poor performance of most other stocks, Oando stocks made a third day topmost price appreciation, probably due to the Monday news of the company’s 30 percent equity in a lucrative Akepo oil field and today’s report on the exchange floor, of Oando’s acquisition of a 15 percent stake in ‘Agip’s 2 deep oil block’, to become the first indigenous company to go into deep off shore oil production. The market capitalization also moved up to N6.431 trillion, as against last week Friday’s N6.385 trillion. A total of 4,249 deals were closed today, involving a volume of 134,988,760 unit shares valued at N1.152 billion; as against last week Friday’s 6,538 deals, involving a volume of 261,509,186 unit shares valued at N1.897 billion.

The top traded stocks in volume terms, ranked in a descending order includes: (1) PZ, traded with 27,248,830 unit shares, valued at N367,881,570.50; (2) FIDELITY BANK, traded with 11,424,491 unit shares, valued at N47,421,203.55; (3) OCEANIC BANK, traded 10,254,161 unit shares, valued at N102,709,876.42; (4) LASACO, traded 6,056,500 unit shares, valued at N6,056,500; while (5) ACCESS traded with 5,230,005 unit shares, valued at N36,876,654.88

The top price gainers of the day in a descending order includes: (1) OANDO which gained N4.10 to close at N86.28; (2) FIRST BANK gained N0.94 to close at N19.84; (3) BCC gained N0.92 to close at N19.48; while, (4) ZENITH BANK gained N0.91 to close at N19.69.

On the other hand, the top price losers includes: (1) UAC-PROP lost N1.12 to close at N22.00; (2) WAPCO lost N1.00 to close at N24.00; (3) GUINNESS lost N0.90 to close at N82.00; while (4) GLAXOSMITH lost N0.56 to close at N12.00

    Intrestingly ,a lot of company using stock as a major biz are confused as d investor as refused to invest their money in stock for now.how do they run as d running cost kept on increasing.i fal into d category n fear grip my heart if my job is stil secured,i wonder when it wil end.alimah bakare 08038109594
