Question Why so many banks on Technical Suspension
IBTC, Diamond Bank, Oceanic, UBA, Africbank........... some of this bank just came out of secondary offering, not IPO. why does it takes weeks to get them back on the board. I know 1st Bank, Access, and Intercontinental Bank will follow the same tradition.


I think NSE is using technical suspension to save some stocks, why can't we let market play it out. In transcorp case, it came out of IPO and started a free fall, the next thing, it is on technical suspension. I invested a lot money in that stock, but it is a game we must learn from mistakes abi. I have been trading in some big boards for years, NYSE ..... In NSE, why can't we short stocks, we need to make money when stock PRICE is going up and when it droping. Most money I have made from StockS came from shorting BIG PIGS, let say someone short Dangote @ 56, GTB @ 38, at its current price, YOU SHOULD BE VISITING YOUR BANK WITH MEGA CASH !!!This scrap that a stock can not go more -5% or +5% in a given day has to go. NSE has turn out to be a big player in the world exchange, let clean the house, and make it very attractive to the world.

This problem needs a quick fix by our NSE. Technical suspensions are becoming a big pain in the neck.

I hate the technical suspension thing as well and lack of market makers. However, I'm for the maximum daily loss and price gain limit. I don't think we are matured (Naija) enough for that stage yet. I support the baby steps for now.

talking about tech suspension, when will oceanic come out of theirs... those guys dont want me to make money out of them!

I agree, Oceanic is very frustrating. The technical suspension is defn supposed to have been lifted. I need my money!!

When I got the news alert from proshare, boy was I happy?. This has been a frustrating period as expressed by so many people so far.

And I was glad that the news was already posted by Stockbear.

Hopefully they will keep getting better on this aspect of NSE operations.

Stockbear, this is good news, my own champain that I put on ice, waiting for the suspensions to be lifted is now frozen !
What do I do? buy another champain to celebrate or forget the party altogether.
