Default Oceanic Bank Share Certificates

Is there anyone who has an idea of when Oceanic bank and Intercontinental Bank would issue their share certificates?

Default hi chinos

Intercontinental bank concluded their IPO long time and should be sending certificate to newshare holders now, allotment process can be very long sometimes particularly wityh bank shares, it has go thru CBN.

Oceanic as u know just concluded its IPO, so you expect it to take some time.

If you are expecting certficate, its usualy take longer than when you expect that your unit be credited to your CSCS listing, thats what i do.

so in short, expect interconBank before oceanic

Pls lets hit THE BOOK to know the meaning of IPO and 2ndary offer, so we can stop confusing IPO with 2ndary offer. First Bank, UBA, GTB, Zenith Bank, OCEANIC Bank, and ACCESS Bank, all did or doing 2ndary offer not IPO.

Read some of the posts, we are making mistakes using IPO instead of 2ndary offer, though it is not an issue here, just point of correction my brother no bad blood.

there are two markets - primary and secondary.

the primary market give out the following offers - IPO (initial public offer),
PO (Public Offer), Rights Issues & private placements.

the secondary market in one that occurs on the floor of the stock exchange.

when you buy shares from the secondary market, you will be given a certificate (except if the company decides otherwise) but when you buy via the secondary market, you dont get a certificate, but a CSCS account will be opened for you by your broker where the shares will be wharehoused.

i hope this little tutorial will clarify the confusion.

Oceanic bank didn't follow through with their prospectus as technical suspension, for example, was lifted later than they said it would be. However, you will get a fair idea of when if you look at their prospectus. This is still obtainable from the bank's website.

if you are so much in a hurry to know, call the regisrar of oceanic bank, if you check the website, you are likely going to meet the same date published in the prospectus.

Hi i guess if you have a CSCS a/c it will automatically link 2 it and therefore ur certificate will not be visible or a postal one.

It is better if ur stocks is link to ur CSCS a/c so u would not bother abt the arrival of any certificates. This is what i was told by my broker.
