ATM Withdrawals now Free at Stanbic IBTC

Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc announced this evening that all Automated Teller Machine (ATM) withdrawals on Stanbic IBTC Bank ATMs is now free.

This is in response to customers request to the management on the removal of the Seventy Naira Only (N70) ATM withdrawal charge.

The bank, in its public releases this evening stated that it had also increased the daily withdrawal limit to One Hundred and FiftyThousand Naira Only (N150, 000.00) in its continued effort to add value and build a long-lasting banking relationship with its customer base.

My opinion is that Stanbic IBTC as a bank is a much better institution than first bank. I also agree that First Bank cannot fail without nigeria failing also.

I have been shouting long before that this stock is seriously overvalued. It has depreciated the most out of all the banks on the NSE as at yesterday losing 13.9%, now it is losing a further 5% today alone. Over capitalization has been worrying the bank and they have been forced to increase loans last year. So far it has the highest loan growth in the banks growing at 41%. Now they are ramping up with loan to deposit jumping to 79% and the highest in the industry but the price remains overvalued given that it is selling at a PBV of 1.58 with an ROE of 8.8%. Zenith sells at a PBV of 1.02 with an ROE of 12%.

I dont understand.. is it that they cannot make money from the Risk Assets being created or what?

We need to even break down their operating income to see what amount is being contributed from their investment banking business and the one from their normal banking business operations...

The assets were most likely created towards the end of the year, which of course ended up with little effect on the full year PAT.

Actually, they've been ramping up their risk assets since beginning of the year. They are also expanding organically even though I would have preferred them to buy one of the gbanjo banks being auctioned by CBN. The issue was that they had to take haircut on a loan instead of selling it to AMCON as they believe that they could get more via write-backs in the near future instead of selling it outright to AMCON.

KOD...the correct figure for diminution in assets was N4 billion....no mind NSE wey type rubbish and Rencap wey do copy and paste...

You do well Oga KOD, even with my tebeyebe and roforofo levels fundamental analysis, I knew this stock was overvalued compared to Skye for example and stayed away as my post above at the time. For these reasons you've now mentioned, I will consider striking when it finally finds its level later in the year. Thank God for SMN.
