the results does not look pretty bad but the point is that we not sure if this stock will dip a lil so as to know when to come in and put a lil bit of bucks into it! not too sure if its a sure stock to invest in but i think it cud be worth taking the risk and putting some money into it after different analysis and projections. any idea please

I think it is at least an average stock and one of the banks to record some growth this 2013 year end. But I'm waiting at 2.8 jxn as I feel the stock is presently in a bear. Not a buy or sell recommendation

don't think the price will reach your target, technically the stock is about to turn north. better to sit in the bus now than never

I'm in accumulation mode. Well capitalized bank, retail strategy seems to be working, potential income from investment banking segment is very good when capital raising activities restart. Subsidiaries are mostly market leaders, tells me something about management mindset, CSL stockbrokers, CSL registrars (sold), FCMB capital.

All good stuff, but the almighty market says NO. Why, I do not know.

Maybe the "key movers" have info that some of us "minors" do not have.

...hmmm, well made speech. I won't challenge what you've said on FCMB, however, I will suggest you consider the profitability of the banking sector going forward. Whether the banks can continue to post super profits considering tight regulations that has eroded some revenue areas.

Overall, consider the sector(s) that would be most affected if QE tapering materializes effective 2014. If foreign investors panic and exit the NSE either from falling Naira value or crude oil prices, the banking sector is the most liquid and I think we might see some more discounts here. ( my opinion)

And talking about the leading banks, the "too big to fail" banks, FCMB is not in that group.

Just remember one thing, QE tapering will start only when the Fed thinks that the US economy is getting better. A better US economy is good for everyone including Nigerian investors. I don't think too much about people who sell stocks when the economy is getting better. Tapering, whenever it starts, will be a good news to me as an investor.

Back to FCMB, the bank is still relatively new in the retail sphere, so it's not surprising that they're not categorized yet as too big to fail. Good for them though in terms of having less scrutiny from the CBN. Look also at the ratios the bank is currently trading at, looks pretty good to me.

A stronger US economy is good for productive economies and I don't think anyone can call Nigeria productive, in fact the only thing we produce is beginning to lose value.
