HELLO DEAR FRIEND,

I AM A NIGERIAN RESIDING ABROAD AND BEFORE I TRAVELLED FOR AN UNREVEALING COURSE, I WAS OPPORTUNED TO OBTAIN SOME PART OF UBA ASSET MANAGEMENT SHARES IN JUNE 2006.

AS AT NOW, BEING THAT AM OUT OF THE COUNTRY I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TRACK THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SHARES. I STUMBLED ON THIS WEBSITE AND I GOT THIS EMAIL LINK, I WILL BE MORE THAN GLAD IF YOU CAN GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION CONCERNING THAT SHARE.

THANKS FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION.

Wink Re-uba asset mgt fund

Hello Friend,
i can understand your sense of feeling lost on the UBA fund thing. Personally, i dont fancy these funds because they are managed funds that basically pay out peanuts. I have a client who bought same uba bond fund and forwarded the certificate to me.It happens that its only UBa that can liquidate the certificates in house. Their office is at 22B Idowu Taylor, Victoria Island. and they have to give you a customised Uba form for you to appendage your signature for verification purposes, and they will tell you when to come for your proceeds. No contract note attached showing how much it was disposed of. Once you get off this mess, my candid advice is to ensure YOU BUY STOCKS IN YOUR GOD GIVEN NAME. Dont go pussy-footing with managed funds(its not worth it for now). Very soon, when you get your axe right, you will smile, aight?

@Ugovictoria
I do not agree with your view on managed funds. I do not know much about the UBA asset management thing since i did not subscribe to it, but i have investments in ARM discovery fund and the IBTC ethical fund which are also managed funds and i can assure you that not only have they been worthwile, but also tracking the value of my investments has never been a bother.
For these respective funds, you can track the value of your investments on their website where the bid and offer prices are clearly stated. i want to believe the case shouldn't be different with UBA asset... Moreover, if you get a copy of business day, the bid and offer prices of these funds including UBA asset "whatever" are clearly stated. I believe UBA asset management floated four mutual funds so it depends on which one you subscribed to but you can either check it on their website or in the business day newspaper (i think punch also publishes it daily).
you might want to read the thread on mutual funds for more understanding on mutual funds but please don't mislead people into thinking that mutual funds are "not woth it". Managed funds or mutual funds have their own objectives and if these objectives are in line with yours, then it's all good.
You can also look at the YoY % growths of managed funds like IBTC equity fund, ARM discovery fund or IBTC ethical fund and see if you still agree that mutual funds are not worth it.

Please, just go to :.:::Welcome to UBA Assets Management Limited Website You will see the prevailing offer and bid prices of the respective mutual funds they offer by the top left side of the web page. you can calculate the value of your investments by multiplying the number of units you bought by the bid price.
hope this helps
