Default shares verification...help!

could someone please help?

i live abroad and so had to get someone backhome to buy all equities from the primary market. he got them all but they all carry his signature.

now i want to open an account with a stockbroker. how do i go about it? i heard the signature and the certificates have to be verified. since i'm not home, how could that be done? do i have to be physically present to do all these? could they be done on my behalf...open brokerage acct, have my certs n signature verified and so on?

could someone pls enlighten me?

It is possible under the condition that the signatures used on your PO forms will now become your regular signatures with the registrars of the companies that you have bought into untill you sell off those shares.
To open your CSCS account and verification, the person that help you bought those shares can complete the process by opening the CSCS account with a stockbroker of your choice completing the necessary formalities with the signature used before and in your name.
You can confide in your broker why you need to do this thing should in case for other purchases you want to use your original signature.

I think the advice given above will help you. I live abroad as well and what I always do is to fill the form and sign it. This can then be scanned and emailed to my designated person or bank in Nigeria. Just a small investment in a scanner could help a great deal with your PC. Openning up a CSCS account with online access to CSCS account will also be of great help.

thanks murphy and solademi.

if the signature of the peson that bought the shares for me becomes the official signature with my stockbroker, what would happen if i need to complete a purchase or sales order form? do i still need to involve the signatory?

also, if in future i need to buy my shares myself from PO,what happens? the signature will not tally with the one in stockbroker's file.

The last point in my previous post is to confide with your chosen stockbroker about the signature issues. Your broker will certainly understand and possibly offered an easier way out.
Note that it is only for the dematerialisation of the certificates at the registrars that you need the purchasing signatures. Your guy can sign some sell mandate forms for you for future sale of these shares.

You should still be able to use your own signatures with your broker for any transaction including new POs.
