Where did you see the sign? Well basically, it means depending on the situation, either sign could apply. It could be adding the plus sign or neg sign first in the arithmetic you are trying to solve. Hope this helps.

The - and + sign i am talking about is the one that appears among the listed stocks from the daily trading. some have - sign while others have the + sign. what does it means when a particular shares have - and others have + sign?

Ok..now you are clear. It means that the price went either up or down compared to lastnight/yesterday price. + means the price changed and added a kobo or naira, while - means it dropped from what it closed the previous night. Hope answers your Q.
