Stockbrokers, like everything else in life have grades. The more the starting deposit, the more class. If you can afford it then go for ZSL, BGL or CSL. Bye.

Watch this stock, whatever made it to gain fully yesterday may be strong, seems insiders strenghtening their position ahead of a bumper harvest.

I think it might have to do with the interim dividend 0f N1.30. The closure of register is June 22-26, 2009 while payment date is July 2, 2009. Iam sure people are loading up in order to benefit.

The stock gained up to N2.50 yesterday alone. You mean people are ready to add N2.50 to get paid N1.30?

Where is your house so that i can direct the rats that have been disturbing us in my compound to your house to have a good meal of the N2.50 kobo under your pillow?. In this credit crunch, half a loaf will be better than nothing.. Seriously speaking, the market is made up of Investors and Traders. A trader will not see any reason why he/she should spend N2.50 to get N1.30. Do not forget also that some people have made this stock their retirement stock and they depend on the dividend and interim dividend. The interim dividend of NB has helped me out some very tight financial situations on several occasions. Here is something to ponder: Will a major shareholder ever sell his NB even if it gets to N200.00?.

Most major shareholders dont sell, they continue to accumulate. But they wont start buying more of the stock now that it gained before a result gets out.

There was talk of NB paying interim dividends but I didnt see the Q1 results from which these dividend are supposedly being paid.

Don't think Q1 result has been released, or maybe we both missed it?

Hi Ken,

You are a star. I have been following your trend of conversation and i was just about to ask the same question.

I live abroad, my present stockbroker has made me lose thousands by not taking spot action. Too slow for my likening. No communication, you have to chase her around. I need someone very proactive, up and doing. Someone very good in communication.

I hope those ones you advice are very good. I will change my broker ASAP to one of them.
Thanks once again.

In the face of recent developements, I think its better to work from the known to the unknown. This stock is the omly one I have my eyes on now, others will need serious scrutiny.
