Trading in stocks as Pumping said is a risky business, and our people may even start pure gambling for the sake of a few that have made some money from trading stocks.

These days I advice people to select stocks you can hang on with, companies like NB.

With our unprofessional brokers, weak regulators, and other risks, you will need only luck to succeed in trading here , not your sharp analytical skills.

NB is looking very solid now, with earnings starting to improve and all debts paid off, the fundamentals looking as sound as ever. yes it is a good buy, the year end is december if thats what you mean by LDT.

Its not clear what the last day of trade will be. They will close by dec. And will likely announce results by march/april, then the LDT will be announced by the company.
All thiese will happen next year.

NB announced an interim dividend of 55 kobo and closing date is oct. 2. This is for the half year.

What do we think will be the full year div and do we think they will do a stock split?

With the 2-year price stagnancy, I don't expect NB to announce any new share listing.

Supo.

It will very stupid of the board of NB to declare a bonus this year. They should just keep on focussing on growing their EPS.
Did they release any result because i didn't see any.
Anywayz, my guess is that their result must have been very good for them to declare dividend in 9 months.
I don order for some samll quantity sha

Default Sentiments is a strong factor Valid or Invalid

Sentiments drive or draw back share prices. Many, many old time investors are not happy with the sharp drop in the price of NB and the dormancy it assumed for quite some months now.

Be ready to witness a massive sale of their shares as soon as the price looks towards the north by any inch. Fundamental or no fundamental, that is currently the culture of the NSE, although I am not advocating that. Many want capital appreciation not 55k.

If these people sell off as you say Survival2006, they will create a buying opportunity many investors are looking for.

If the price comes down to less than 40 naira, I will start to buy again.

Default NB

Sell NB at your own peril. Always buy a company NOT a stock. NB stock is worth owning for a life time in my humble opinion

I lilke that, 'buying a company and not the stock'
NB is a stock for the future, if everything in the financials of NB is going as smoothly as its operations, the sky is their limit.

I still believe in their future prospects.

Default Nigerian Breweries

how true is the interim dividend coming from NB and how much are they paying per share?

NB has been paying dividend consistently over the years...

@ AYO ATESILE

I believe there's an existing thread for Nigerian Breweries. Could you direct your enquiries there

Guys,
Would like to know what you guys think about this stock. Of all the stocks in my portfolio, this has been the worst performing stock in terms of price appreciation. for the past one year from when i bought it, it has only gained 26% as compared to others that have grown on a combined average of 78%. I am getting impatient with this stock. While i know that it's a fundamentally strong stock, it seems the market doesn't care. what do you think?
