Thumbs up ...thus the investor

Because gambling or speculation will get your fingers burnt, but investing will not!?!

Taipan, if I read you well, your conclusion reads, thus the investor...

I went in heavy on IB myself, but picked up pieces on the secondary market so as to sell, just in case the whole IPO thing is a bubble- but I am by nature a believer in good governance, so with the German 60% take in- life should be good, because that better good governance than IB without the Germans. But just in case it is not...

If not primary +/- secondary purchase is zero.

Hedging...could also be the name of the game?!

This is the second window Pumping. Split your plans 75-80% to 20-25% in this way, the former for PO (primary) the latter for secondary- then ride the high before Certs are dispatched, then sell the 20-25% mandate/purchased from the secondary market and you take out most of the 75-80% on the PO... and still get to keep the shares from the PO for the mid term.

The historic trend of all stock markets is upwards, so in the mid- long term, u will gain (remember, most of the initial principal… primary + secondary has been cashed)!

There is however one caveat- you need to have a good broker, inevitably the best Brokers in Niaja appear to be the ones with high minimum opening accounts. To ensure that your buy mandate is executed, you need to be with the big guys.

On IB, zee Germans are here...

I'll be the first to admit that fundamental investing too carries some risks, but these risks are managed, and by it's very nature, the daily fluctuations of the market dont matter BECAUSE that isnt what you're investing in. If you invest in a sound company based on its' fundamentals, the chances are that you'll end up good in the long run.
With gambling, the chances are that after all your fingers have turned to ashes, you'll discover that you haven't made any money - even though you might not have lost any. Now, this is a statistical fact according to a US research. Most 'buy-and-sell' investors just dont make any money over the long run i.e. they make some cool cash today only to loose it all tomorrow.

Default IB was a gold mine

Investment in itself is a risk. Looking through the IB prospectus closely, there seems to be some good ideas about returning the company to profitability, and its (the company) also managed by germans. Dont forget Germans are the active palyers when it comes to making beers. I think its a gold mine. Anyone that bought during IPO has gained about 250% ROI and its still making maximum 5% gain day after day

No allotment and certificate yet and we are talking of gain of about 250% or have they announced their allotment. We are counting this money in papers.

we all know there is a waiting period of about 8-9 months for certificates but it never too early to count your gains on a stock like the IB. Unless they do not roll out a bottle of drink in that period. Maybe everyone will not get 250% but why stop the good feeling, its a new year in a few hours!!

I here is wishing everyone a PROSPEROUS one!!

Com'on Nezvest, you are asking similar question that Taipan ask and was properly informed by Apache. Take a cue from that. Post about 30-35 replies and see where you might be. But I hope that this is not a means of getting cheap points to elevate yourself to the next status??:

Default Allotment Result of IB

Hi Guys,

Have anyone heard anything about the allotment result of IB? I remebered that they closed sales about the same time dangote closed sells and the allotment result of dangote is out. Those that mean we should be expecting that of IB anytime soon. What are the chances that one would get the full subscription of what he applied for? I applied for about 100000units and really hoping to get the full allocation.

I don't think IB will have over subcription issues. There was no marketing for the offer, most people that knew about it were not willing to touch it bcos they felt it was too risky. i don't foresee any issues. They will be very lucky if the offer was oversubscribed
