Explaining the choice of BCC for a temporary shutdown, the Dangote Group image-maker noted that “…with the dumping of subsidised imported cement in the South eastern market, there is no way our Gboko Cement plant can survive. In fact, members of staff have been put on forced leave pending when the situation improves.”

“Inventory of finished products is beginning to build up at our plants. Don’t forget that projects from our investments of about N280 billion in additional capacity are already on stream, with lines 3 and 4 at Ibese and line 4 at Obajana, coming on stream early this year.”

Dangote should stop whinning and try to compete!! what about the Eastern Market? How much does a bag of dangote Cement sell in the east compared to the other brands?

Its is well documented that this guy only thrives where there is very little competition. Only time will tell if the cement business will go like others when the compettition heats up as WAPCO and BUA increases their capacity!

Said it many times, he only operate in a monopoly. Something is wrong if you cannot compete.

Even with his monopoly, government's protection and patronage, it is still difficult to build a networth of 50 billion dollars. I just shared my thoughts with KOD on the difficulties of having 1 million people with a networth of 50 billion dollars in Nigeria.

He made a lot of money off-loading Dangote sugar on the masses via NSE. Same for Dangote flour. When I saw the rating of Buy for Dangote Cement from IBTC and co I nearly curse them.

Dangote sells his companies before he expiration of his tax holidays, in my opinion this is a very smart move and is akin to getting investors after starting a business rather than before but is very different from manipulating government to creating a monopoly

What are they going to do with excess capacity? Are their prices competitive for the export market? Did they not know what demand was and what their local competitors were doing in terms of increasing capacity?

He did the same with NASCON, he offloaded at N21.00 in 2007. He said he wanted Nigerians to partake in the future returns of the company.

We are talking about off loading here. He decided to reduce his holdings in NASCON in 2007, so that Nigerians could partake in the returns from NASCON. The shares of this company was very scare in the market at that time, so he decided to sell some of his holdings for N21.00. Immediately after this the stock became available, and the price started nose diving.

The standard of living of any society is based on the goods and services available therein. The result of business ventures. My prayer is for God's mercy to save us from the hands of Nigerians who come to leadership positions to set the country backwards.

Dangote has taken more money out of NSE than the value he added. Look forward to see Dangote Cement Prices come down. The same way Dangote Sugar, Flour and NASCON have gone.

Dangote Cement is trading at N150 a share. .Kaching, thats the sound of money in ma bank, hmmn.

This is fair value for me, until third qtr of 2013.
