Interesting....which bank(s) will give them N18B, when the prized asset, "NITEL", (is it still a prized asset? NITEL might become irrelevant before our eyes) is comatose?

YOU HVE made enough losses, about 200% on your tcorp investment, well just know that you are not alone.
what to do? the whole scenario is worst now that we are all heading for the rocks!!!!!!!!!!!
i will not tell you what to do but will tell you what i did with mine, i held on to it and regard it as a total loss, i plan to recover the losses from other shares in my portfolio.

Perhaps, best leaving this to the main gurus in the house to comment...

If i were the one I would have sold transcorp and recover what is left of my money cos this share has a probability of reaching coins level if you know what i mean. This business is a two way thing, either you win or lose.

I will advice you keep it if you don't need the money but if you have good stock to invest in and you don't have alternative then you can sell it. As for me, I bought 20,000unit@7.5 in the IP0, 24,000@4.5, and last week another 20,000unit@2.56. All still in my portfolio and I will only sell if I need to invest in another stock and I dont have other alternative.

Yes the subscription level was about 38%. Imagine. This was even when PO's were popular. Hm. I guess NIgerians understood the political risk hanging over this company.

I adviced my friends against buying the PO. Some did not listen. At least two of them are still holding on to it. Some times u have to take a loss and move on.

Nico, Bank PHB has not returned any body's money (to my knowledge). There is the rumor they are looking for a creative way to absorb all the money (ala Japaul) and there is this news that they are arranging for a shareholder meeting sometime in July to ask shareholders for permission to offer some units to an identified investor. I do not see them returning some people's money and at the same time offering new units to the other. So you may be in luck for full allotment. Just hold on for a little longer.

That said, pls try posting in the appropriate section (in this case bank PHB discussion folder) next time for quicker attention.

Though people are bound to make mistakes but what suprises me is when people see other good alternative opportunities, got advice from others and still go ahead into some investments. I also warned some friends but men the image transcop was potraying then was irresistable for many people. I never believed in Transcop but if she does well tomorrow, i wont have any regret. This is personal anyway.

True. People get emotionally attached or do not want to admit that a mistake has been made. We have all made investment mistakes and my philosophy is to recognize when I have made one and just move on.

Kai, to think that I almost bought into the PO then. I got the news/rumor that Dangote, who was supposed to be one of the power money brokers behind the company pulled out and then was begged to come back in. When I heard that, I knew something was wrong somewhere and I ran away as far as my cheetah legs could carry me.

For those that have it, I will just say hold on to it for now. The company is down and battered and maybe they will wake up. How soon, no one knows but hopefully soon. As I have said before, no babalawo can make me invest into this company ever again, after losing some money late last year, except they spin off subsidiaries that will be easier to manage.

The news is just to keep hope alive. The company is in a state of comatose. I bought 50,000 shares and I have a worthless piece of paper called ‘share certificate’ which I have not be able to verify for over a year. It is very tragic that Transcorp could turn out to be such a monumental disaster. If you cannot verify your certificate, how do you cut your loss and move on?

In investment, you lose some and you win some. Around the same time I picked two million Aso Savings shares for N1 million. It is the best bargain I have had so far.

They use Afribank Registrars. The worst registrars. They have not verified May & Baker for me in 10 months. They even said bankers authorised signature (1 out of 2) was irregular. Useless Afribank Registrars. Transcorp should change their registrars to First Registrars !
