ACTION, EXECUTION AND GOOD IMPLEMENTARTION is what is required to revive investors confidence in Transcorp. Nothing more.

The share price closed at N3.90 today, i am still waiting for it to drop to N3 to make an entry for a long term.
We are both saying the same thing. Except that you think the glass is half-empty, and I think it is half-full.

Half-empty, and half-full is the same thing, except for the mindset.

4.10 is the closing price for today.

Default We Are Missing Something

This discussion wouldn't go this length if we have not missed something.

Now my question: Was and Is there anywhere transcorp management promised bumper returns to investors before 2009? Except those who bought the stock blindly, others saw it as a long term investment.

Is it rational on our part to make Transcorp perform what it never in the first place promised? Whoever is buying into any company is buying into its FUTURE which no one can predict accurately. In the event of some funny government policy the best stock can suddenly become a NET OFFER stock.

Stock investment is ENTIRELY a risky one FUNDAMENTAL or no FUNDAMENTAL. There were those who bought ACCESS at cross deals for N23to N24 Naira hoping to offload when it gets to N30 or N35 by their own projection which was REASONABLE then. Where are we now after technical suspension? Some would say BEAR or BULL. But even with the so-called presence of bear AP is today N106.90 from N60 when people were rushing after ACCESS BANK on the floor!!!! Those who bought ACCESS at cross deal for N23 or so, ask them now, if they wouldn't have preferred AP to ACCESS, again had they known?

Leave Transcorp alone. Out of 10 GREAT INVESTORS' portfolio there MUST BE A JUDAH STOCK If Transcorp is that Judah stock, let that be but time will tell. IT MAY GET WORSE, or IT MAY NOT. That is the name of the game.

Let us not ask from Transcorp what they did not promise in the first place. Patience can be WISDOM in stock investment, PATIENCE can be FOOLISHNESS! But who wants to be foolish? Unavoidably no one here who has been in the business of stock investment who has not at one time or the other been, sorry, foolish. We learn EVERYDAY from this dynamic, mercurial investment environment. Some investors still bought some UNTL shares after its closure. They might sound foolish now, if the otherwise happens in a few months time, we name-callers now would be the foolish ones

In matters of stock, I have always endeavoured not to stick out my small neck, IT COULD BREAK

Many investors are scared of Transcorp shares. It depreciation is continuous. Can't the company do anything to revive the hope of investors?

LOL...
Wanajo wrote about MTN declaring $256million, Lets put it in the right perspective so we can all have the big picture...MTN declared this profit after 6yrs of existence in Nigeria.

The amount of pessimism surrounding transcorp just beats me. What do we really expect? Do we expect we'll all go to bed one night and wake up the next morning to hear Transcorps MTEL has added 10 - 15 million subscribers over night with all debts owed Nitel recovered and all their switches and exchanges are working optimally? and that other investments they have are operating optimally with good profit ..? In my Opinion, that would be pulling a Rabbit out of a hat and that's not going to happen.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Transcorp embarking on some media campaign to shore up investor convidence, i dont agree they are just making noise like some of us may prefer to believe.

What ever happened to 'Potentials of a Company' in the permutations that we make? why is everybody into action.. action.. action...?

Come to think of it.. some smart guys are taking position now while the rest of us are waiting for action..by the time we begin to see the action, the entry point for this stock could be above what it is today..therefore costing some us more to take position..

I missed out on the AP bounty because i didnt see potential but was so much into action..looking at my potfolio now, i'm not very impressed with how my 'action' stocks have performed.

my 2 Cents..

Many stocks have good potential but the price you pay determines the value the stock brings to your porfolio.

If I recall one of Warren Buffet quotes correctly,

"It's far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price."

Whatever Transcorp is, there is a fair price for it's value. Of course it may be the current price....who knows...???

Default Trancorp Shares

Just to annouce that I have gotten my Cert. though with a mistake on my name. All the same, I bought for long term, even though at a high price of N7.50. I became afraid when I watched the price going down but not burdered cause I know one day, it will definitely rise a salable price. Stock mkt is Patience associated.

Default Transcorp dilemma

If I can use the quote of an earlier contributor, passing comments on Transcorp is dependent on whether you consider the glass to be half-empty or half full.

Any thing that happens to the company is considered same way. The "Pro- Transcorpers" will always see the light (could be faint) in any action. However, the "Anti-Transcorpers" do not want to dazzled by any action.

One thing is certain for Transcorp, it was initially the glass was initially full. With time, the cup became dangerously "half full or half empty".

For Pro-Transcorpers, it may (or will) swing towards 'cup fullness' and are willing to take the risk.

For Anti-Transcorpers, it may swing towards "cup emptiness" and are not willing to take the risk.

My advice -
Sit back with an open mind, see things from other peoples perspective, review all the analysis and comments, and take further actions on your investment strategy.

Remember, any decision you make, na you go take your head (and money) carry am o!!!

For your information Glo has suspended my post paid line for two weeks now.u wonder what it has to do with transcorp?i will tell u.I used almost 50% of my monthly benefits to buy transcorp this month cos i didnt buy the IPO.i did not even have a job then.I am not that seasoned and informed a investor to know when a stock will pick up like someone suggested we wait till next year march.Mba,i am not waiting. iam going in now. it has bottomed out and pretty sure i will be rejoicing in the next one year.
Dont blame me for my ignorance.when i see Tom Iseghogi attracting top Nigerians from all over the world to the company.when i sew a new board reconstituted.Cisco SYSTEMS is not a company u find anywhere.SAT 3.Transcorp Hilton.I checked if MTEL is available in Benin where i stay.i also asked people in Abuja and Kaduna to check for me.that means Mtel only needs some beef up and some rebranding.Me,am not a sharp investor o but my gut feeling tells me i av got this one right.Anyone out there who can lend me some money please?I want to buy more.

I think i saw somewhere on CNN that Cisco was been probed for something that i can't remember now. I hope it's not the same Cisco that is involved with transcorp

Default Transcorp Certificate

I think this thread is necessary!
I am still yet to receive my certificate from the transcorp PO in early 2007. I called their office and was told not to worry, that people have started receiving it. Is this true?
Anyway that was in early October, is a month not long enough for the posting process?
What do I do if the certs are missing in transit?

sent it 4 verification. still waiting on the registrers or is it the brokers now
cos its between the 2 of them
i think the procedure is that in the case u dont get ur cert u could actually apply 4 a new one after 6 months of posting by the registrers
but i suggest u go to the registrers office first to know the status of ur holding
hope i ve been of help
later

I agree with you that a month is enough to sort out issue of posting. Another thing might be that yours has not been sent as I learnt that most of those certificates are sent in phases.

If eventually you discovered that its missing in transit, you need to write them (The registrar) and request for your certificate to be replaced since you cannot get the first one. They will guide you through the procedures of getting this done.

Good Luck
