It will take a lot to make me invest in this "kalo kalo" venture . This is definitely not the best time to come to the market. Let's see the prospectus though.

Yes, it will be a good idea to see their prospectus before reaching a conclusion. Of course, it is only NSL Tech that can take such gamble by coming to the market at this time that investors are very jittery. Afterall, that's what they do for a living... gambling.

I have never liked this company for once. I see them as a big gamble where this year you make profit and the next year you dont make anything. By the way the price the chose looks expensive to me, they should have made it a 20% discount.

To the best of my knowledge, NSL got listed on the floor December 2007 and this is June 2008. Now, they are about to float an IPO. What under the sun happened to the one year rule?

Usual Niger politics must be involved. this one may be one of the sacred cows. this is a classic example of the NSE saying one thing and doing another.

Wahala. Any company that has the blessings of the NSE is best avoided. Eg Trancorpse.

NSL's N12.4b offering opens today
By Gbenga Agbana

AFTER the postpoment of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of National Sports Lottery Plc (NSL) scheduled to open last month, the company's IPO will open today and close on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, but it was postponed to enable more Nigerians to become part owners of the company.

At the moment, offer documents are being distributed to the offices of receiving agents nationwide, state secretariats and the FCT ministry as to ensure the availability of the documents on the offer opening day.

This offer is unique especially considering the fact that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved the allocation of 21,621,621 units to each state and the FCT. When completing the application forms, subscribers would be expected to quote the reference number for their states of origin in the appropriate boxes.

A total of 800,000,000 units of NSL shares are on offer at a price of N15.50 per share. An individual subscriber can apply for a minimum of 1,000 shares and additional units of 100 thereafter.

National Sports Lottery Plc is a company committed to positively changing the lives of Nigerians. The company aims to deliver 'cashlessness' to Nigeria through its 'Point-of-sale' terminals network that has the capability to process electronic transactions, including the use of bank cards, purchase of phone recharge "PINs" and the collection of bills on behalf of various institutions.

The company also has an exclusive licence to operate a national lottery.

In the offering procedure, an individual subscribe can apply for a minimum of 1,000 shares and additional units of 100 thereafter.

The Managing Director of NSL Plc Dr. Odunlami Kola Daisi said that NSL Plc was a very unique business, which was just of its kind in Nigeria and its ready to offer unique service to its clientele.
