It is not difficult if you have a reliable stockbroker. I heard some broker charge paltary sum for it but I have never paid for this service. The process to deposit your certificate with CSCS (if you already have a broker and CSCS account Number) is just to visit your broker's office, drop your certificate with them, sign the stock transfer form that has your broker's stamp on it and leave the rest for the broker to do. You might want an ackowledgement of the certificate deposit - if your broker is not trustworthy. Depending on the registrar of the company whose shares you own, it should take a week or two to credit your CSCS account. If nothing happens, follow up with your broker.
If you do not have a CSCS account, then you need to get a reliable broker and register. This will require you to deposit some money and/or share certificates worth min for brokage account opening which varies broker to broker. Then a CSCS account can be opened for you and others follow.

Read the thread on How to find a Reliable stockbroker for more info.
