NASCO is still trading at N18 and I think it is because of the bearish market. Opporturnity for people that still want to buy. I placed an order for some today (short term)

Might be that those that participated in the special one day sale (bought @ N22) are worrying the stock. I am waiting to see if it can cross that N22 mark, because I expect those people to start selling @ any price around N20 to cut their losses.

following the news, you bought nascon 10000unit at N18=N184,248 (charges inclusive) if appreciate to N25, then you got 40kobo and i for 5, the price after marked down will be N19.6, but now you have 12000unit=N228967.7, you made profi of N44719 or 24%, after marking down, the price is bound to be on a free fall, and so eventualy, you might loose all you gained as a result of buying nascon because of the dividend and bonus. also remember that the bonus will take forever to reach u and the dividend, only GOD knows how long. in my opinion, i think people are now responding properly to bonus news. see what happen to afribank, lot of example like that. after the news i suspected this, i sold at N19.08 (friday closing price), i hoping to do a shorty again at N17, otherwise, not going in |

Good analysis although you considered one side. If I buy at N18 and it gets to N25, I will sell and go out making N7 per share (about 35%) in a short while. If I am sure it will get to N25, I will borrow money to buy alot at N18 ![]() |

Another thesis is that the market is just bearish. Just look at the price of GTB, Oceanic (both are in the red for the year) while Zenith has posted a marginal gain compared to the closing price in Dec 2007. |

Anyhow i go enter when the price go below 18 Naira. I am sure of making profit in the long term with this stock. Its easier to analyse stock over a long time span than a short one.

the market reaction to the news suggest that people are not excited about it and i see the price further crashing after closure of register and the price is marked down to accomodate the bonus. all you need to do is to make some calculation on your own and use N18 as the price at closure of register, consider what the price will be after marking down and also deduct the dividend, multiply the number of unit you now have plus d dividend and get you percentage loss or profit, that will definately guide you. good luck |

The price keeps falling down. It seems people are not interested in the dividend and bonus offered. Does anyone know the reason for this?

the market is bearish. in a bearish market, reaction to good news is often minimal.

Julius berger doesnt seem to be going down despite the bearish market. I feel there may be something more keeping NASCON from flying as we expect.
