Just to reduce oversubscripton and create mad rush for it. Make sure you buy on time or else your money will be returned with interest.

Any advice on this offer when it comes out. Long or short term investment? What is a reasonable volume to buy. As you guys have probably guessed, I am just starting out so i could do with all of the experience and knowledge from you Gurus out there

No one knows for sure when this offer will come out. We have been expecting it on this forum since June. The answer we get is that it will come out soon. How soon is soon? Not even officials of Dangote are willing to let the cat out of the bag. My take on this is that if it does not come out late this month, then we should expect it in September. But one thing is sure, it will come eventually. So save for it if you are interested in this.

An alternative would be to buy one as you and the next in the family name or joint or in your child's name or children's names for long term.
Yes, I share in your opinion. Buying public offer through different brokers may cause a lot of distraction even in the nearest future. Remember that paying for it does not automatically guarantee you its possession in its ethics. You have only applied and the company has the right to reject or grant your application to be a part owner of the company (in the original sense), so let us not do what will not allow us to sleep at night as we do not know what it may lead to. Better buy at once sell whatever you want to sell and keep whatever you want to keep till you like as long as the company remains alive. It is better that we are olways on the saver side of whatever we are doing.

ahhhhhhhhhh! DSR?
I dont understand ooooooooo!! Is DSR not DANGOTE SUGAR REFINERY? My brokers keep telling me that the Stock has not been verified and I ve lost focus. I left DSR to face other market.
I have decided never to buy Public Offer again as a result of what DSR, Ibplc and Mutual Benefit has alegedly caused me. And I ve continued another face of life with another firm, but purely Secondary Market.

Thanks very much for this info. I just finished talking to Zenith registrars and they confirmed to me that my DSR has been verified and sent to CSCS.
This forum is doing a great job, God bless the forum.
Could you believe that I just finished talking to my broker and they denied my verification status!
Please house why do you think that they could be doing that?

Hi Ajifowowe,

Just ignore them and move on,some of the brokers dont even know what they are doing, just out there to exploit and frustrate people. You can try other brokers.

How? I try to purchase my POs and IPOs through my broker, so they already have my signature and so once the certificate comes, it is delivered by my relatives to the broker. The broker does the rest and I send them emails say every one to two weeks and then they conclude and deliver. Soon it reflects on my online Brokerage account with my broker. Then I can do as I please with it.

My broker has channels of transfering money from overseas to them, but I have only given them money either directly when I am in Nigeria, or via Nigeria intra bank transfer (we bank with the same bank that has online facilities....that work!)

Get a good broker and include IPO/PO in your enquiry. For the POs that have come lately, my account officer gets the form across to me by email, I fill, scan and email back to her. The purchase is then funded from my account.
