I will not say I trade online. I am still at the mercy of my broker. All I do is carry out my transactions with my broker online. They do the trading. I heard one time that NSE will let those dealing with up to 10 million naira to have a portal where they can trade online. I do not know how true that is.

Default Banker' Confirmation?

I was told to verify share certificate, the registrars normally ask for bankers confirmation.
I do not know about that, however, my brokerage account involved a lot of confirmations with my bank. I do not know the details of what happens.

Default Bankers' confirmation

Yes most times the registars ask for bankers confirmation which is used to verify your signature. So usually the bank you bank with will write a letter confirming your signature which your broker then takes together with your share certificate to the registrar.

If you are not resident in nigeria it is important to always maintain contact with your account officer to help you speed up the process. ( i also think most banks charge for this letter).it is not just getting your certificate that matters it is very important to be able to verify quickly to ask to cash in if you want to sell.

Hope this answers your question

Does anyone know if an individual can have two CSCS accounts with different brokers.?
You will always need a broker to get your certificates 'dematerialised' so that your holdings can be in CSCS.

Yes you can have two CSCS accounts.

Some registrars do ask for bankers confirmation. Union Registrars is notorious for this. Sometimes it has to do with irregular signature.

If your broker is affilated to a bank, that can be processed without your knowing. Most banks however do charge for that.

It is not a mistake. if you buy DSR PO, you will read that one of the pledge of the company is to pay dividend on quarterly basis (1st Nigeria company to do that though). I have recieved 2 Dividend so far. The first one my money did not work for (last year result) while the 2nd was first qtr (Jan to March 2007) I am currently expecting 2nd qtr dividend payout hopefully to be recieved in August/September.
If you don't have DSR, you can still buy from secondary market and enjoy what we are enjoying.
I hope you are clear now Kenneths?

Default Dangote flour- Private placement

I received a news alert today stating that "Dangote Flour will most likely now be a Private Placement due to the non-agreement of a fair value for the offer between SEC and the company. The PP should take place in the next few weeks"

If it is a private placement, it will not be an all comers affair. They might fix the minimum at like 100,000 units at N15.00 per share. It may also affect the proposed listing date.
