7up
7-Up Plc Dropped their result on the floor yesterday, and its thus:
7UP BOTTLING CO. PLC AUDITED YEAR-END RESULT FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH, 2007 2007 2006 CHANGE % CHANGE N'b N'b N'b % TURNOVER 27.300 22.000 5.300 24.09 PBT 1.960 1.700 0.260 15.29 TAXATION -0.741 -0.539 -0.202 -37.48 PAT 1.200 1.160 0.040 3.45 PROPOSED DIVIDEND N1.30K CLOSURE DATE 2/10/2007 |
The dividend declared by 7up is a slight improvement on last years 1.25, even after the splits, my only worry here is the marginal increase in profitability.
I thought this company will be giving NBC a hot chase in profitability as they are doing in in adverts. No wonder my mentor once told me to stick with market leaders in every sector. Surprises will happen but not as much. |
When will all the efforts of this company start to yield superlative results? I am always amazed about their market penetration programmes, succesful promos, fido dido adverts, market goodwill, and other positive factors.
When will all these increase shareholders value? When compared to investors in other companies, returns in 7up seems smaller. This company is stingy to shareholders! |
Quote:
Maybe all the successfull promos, fido dido adverts, market goodwill e.t.c have not tranlsated into excellent financial results and not necessarily the company being stingy? If the company is "stingy to shareholders" and it has been financially sucessfull over the years, then this will show up in the company's fundamentals i.e. very low P/E multiples, very low PEG ratios, very high dividend yield e.t.c. If 7up's ratios are in line with its competitors, then the company's price has relected all the superlatives you mentioned, or you do not think so? I do not own 7up, so maybe the company's P/E multiples e.t.c are way below its peers? |
Does anyone know if 7up has realsed any interim results? All I have are the audited results for FYE March 2007.

What do you think?
Sorry pls, i am new here and really don't know how to go about this site properly. i spent lots of time trying to ask questions to my fellow investors but it's been difficult. I just hope i get it this time. I want to get invested in shares and seeking the right shares to buy for a period of 5 months with good returns probably. penny or blue chip will do just fine. pls help??
I am new to this stock market of a thing. I bought about 5,800 units of Afribank at 24naira after seeing a good P.E ratio in the news paper. but now it's dropped about 2naira lower and i don't know if it will continue like this or may be better. I am thinking of selling it soon and getting the money diverted to penny shares. Pls my fellow investors, do you think the cost of Afribank share will rise anytime soon? Thanks. |
