Can someone advise on the closure date for dividends payment for the year ending 2006. Or is it yet to be disclosed

Please guru's advise; do i hold or sell mutual benefits. Im not sure if what has been happening is profit taking or has it peaked and is heading for decline. Do i sell or wait and see.

do not sell your mutual benefits. Even with the dividend payment, the stock is one of the hottest in the sector. As an intelligent investor, do not be concerned more of ehat happens today, but for future.

Insurance stocks are yet to reflect their true value. Hold them for at least 1 year ans see what happens.

I was timing this stock after buying for two months, and had to sell on thursday after i saw a weakening demand, the price fell on that day and fell again on friday.
But for long timers, the stock is a good one.

I feel you Dotunk, because of this certificate delays, i buy more of secondary market stuff than PO's.

I wish the offers will get faster.

The challenge for us all in light of the turn-around time for certificates and verification will be to identify, early enough, which companies are coming to the market via a P.O. and buy shares on the floor.

This way we'll be able to sell as and when we deem fit and not be subjected to the inefficiencies of the firms and their registrars.

Red face

guys,
the issue with certificate is a very serious one.
You should know by now, if you are a long time investor, that companies usually delay their certificate (especially when price goes up) in a bid to control their stock price, so that investors don't sell their stocks. That is an example of Intercontinental Banks public offer.
Sometimes, some gives their certificate as promised but delay their verification like Dangote Sugar Refinery, hence that is still going to affect your sales.
So my own opinion is that you always go to the secondary market if you are planing for short term investment.

ajifowowe,

agree with you on the secondary market thing but intercontinental had problems with verification of the funds collected during the offer

And CBN big brother approach did not help either.

We tend to hv an idea of how tomorrow will be from the signs available today.Insurance companies keeps making good profit..d tomorrow of this sector is great.
Good performance by MB ins but not a very strong profit growth...the pe ratio will not be too positively affected by a 48% profit growth considering d fact dat the pe ratio of MB Insurance plc is very high.

I believe dat the company will do well in d 1st quarter of 2008..i can see dat they r building profit momentum from d analysis of the LAST quarter performance.

Default Mbefit

Thanks Hispy99 for the afrinvest info.
Good and objective analysis on Mbefit.
I have always believed in the insurance companies to deliver on expectations.
I will say Mbefit did not disappoint, though no bonus was declared.
I hope the market will respond positively to the result.
With Full yr EPS of 29k and PE of 14.6, Mbefit will likely do well.
