It probably is. We need to wait to see the prospectus though. Critical thing is to see if new shares will be entitled to possible bonus shares. If new shares are, then this is significant discount becuase after TS I will expect the floor price to rise even further.

Is this PO for Aiico out already??

I concur. At N2.20 and wt the AIG backing AIICO PO shd be a must buy. But then we'd still need to read the prospectus well enuf. Mutual benefits and STACO Ins are also close to securing TS for their own POs.

Are you sure it opened today? didn't hear anything about it in the news. do you have a link where one can get details, if you have the prospectus, better

I understand your skepticism, cause this was not in the news last week but I made calls and it was confirmed at N2.20. Good price for people that are prepared to wait.

The offer was timed wrongly. They did not benefit from the Insurance stocks rally. This offer price to me is low except they end up dishing out bonus shares. They will not be in a hurry to invite outside folks.

Found this story..allAfrica.com: Nigeria: Aiico Share Offer Turns Xmas Bonus for Investors (Page 1 of 1).., but still cant find the prospectus.

With the low publicity this offer is getting and the wrong timing, I get the feeling some of the directors want to reserve this for themselves. Afterall, they had missed out on the recent bullish run in the insurance market - as this stock was already technically suspended before then...

Anyway - if anyone sees this propsectus, please post here....it just might be the xmas bonus I need...

Does anyone know anybody at Greenwich? they are the issuing house to the offer. At least one should be able to get the prospectus from there. I tried opening their site but wasn't successful. maybe you can try there. Their phone number is 014619261-2.

Its quite strange that the offer is more muted than publicised, abeg if anybody gets the prospectus make we know o! It must be out there somewhere as the link above has some projections which must have come from the prospectus

Fianlly got the prospectus from a chic in Greenwhich. Nice to know what a little male charm can get you (yeah right!!!)
I am not even bothering to read this. I will leave this to the gurus to analyse and share. But while you guys are at it, I'll be sending in my cheque tomorrow.
Note that 48% of the offer has been preferentially alloted to AIG

You can reach them on any of these lines and they will request for your
e-mail address to send the prospectus to you. They also confirmed that the prospectus is not on their website.

Considering that the offer is 40% pref. Allotted, it looks like an offer worth investing in especially if they can keep to the timetable in the prospectus, but has that always been the case?

I concur with you on this one. I think the coy were napping which in turn becomes our own gain. I'd get as much as I can. Let others battle with prospectus. I can afford to wait till 2009 sef. Btw, thanks a mil. If you know how much I have been looking for the offer form?
