Thats good news! best i have heard in a while, what with the poor returns on international breweries and all. maybe one can begin to make some money after all.
can somebody educate me on the issue of whether Universal absorbed everything. that is 100% subscription or are they following the trend in the market by sending people back their monies?

The 16 billion Ordinary shares of Universal Insurance Company Plc that would be listed by way of introduction tomorrow Monday February 11, 2008 on the Daily Official List of the NSE will be listed at N1.85k per share. It would be recalled that the PP of the company late last year was at 0.95k per share.

I agree, the certificate is what i want. i am not in a hurry to divest sha. only bought about 1mil shares. the good news for me now will be that they absorbed everything. i am not looking forward to receiving any return funds from the offer. That will be bad.

Pleas does anyone know what the return on allotment is like?

I heard it's really going to be bad, the PP was massively oversubscribed and allotment is going to be about 20% of units applied for. 100% allotment for application below 100,000units.
Definitely be expecting return monies.

i also confirmed the fact that i should expect monies back today. not good news. this has strengthened my resolve, no more public offers for me.
yes its been listed. closed at N2.03 today. on its way up i guess, until certificate forces bring it down.
