Equity Life Insurance

I heard Equity Life Insurance will be doing an IPO next year - though not popular, i dont really care as long as there is GROWTH potential. The life business in the country is OK; but I am generally worried about the ownership structure. i think they will be doing public offer next year at 80kobo per share.

Also being relatively undercapitalized compared to the likes of lasaco and cornerstone - I strongly believe they will be acquired.

Does any one have any comments, or analysis or insights.

equity life insurance is a sister company of equity assurance, so if absorption will take place they readily have a company to take them up.

a question pls! without diverting attention, i will like to know what will be the effect of acquiring or absorption after one has purchased shares with this insurance company. positive or negative?

acquiring, absorption, and d other complex words aside. Equity life assurance is a full subsidiary of Equity Assurance group but really theres no group per say, just equity assurance. (just as u see zenith, oceanic, gtb result wt group and bank side by side, the bank usually contributes abt 95% of the earnings) Truth is except they intend to spin off the subsidiary and list it as a seperate entity the whole equity life assurance ipo wd be a mess due to cost allocation wt parent company

year im thinking it may not be worth it - plus their current PE ratio as a Group is not very encouraging.

Pls if anybody know the reason for the sudden rise in the price of equity insurance, let the person inform me. I have the stock and it is for short term. Are they about to go on tec. suspension? Somebody help!

Edwin,
Equity is planning a PO son, might not be unconnected with the recent rally.
Depending on your investment strategy, you may wanna hold on or offload.
Also depending on what price you entered and wat margins u have made, u might aslo want to ration your sale.

equity assurance is coming out with good IPO and its right issues but i do nt when it is coming out for now but the right issues is #3.75 and IPO is #4.20this most be a good buy for investor well good for existing investors from #5.09 is a good offer

Please what is the tendency that the prices of Equity insurance will rise up. My stock brokers mistakenly bought large units for me and I'm scared their prices are declining, I'm investing on a short term

this stock has been placed on technical suspension and will not be moving either up or down until the proposed IPO of this company is concluded. i will also suggest you take a long term approach because the market is bearish & short term gains may not realy come.

Not moving because its on technical suspension... guess they were waiting to release results before PO, but given that the market has been flat they are probably engaged in some delay tactics in addition to official delay process of SEC and all institutions involved pre PO approval process...

Might not be bad for us- most coys delay in flat market situations.
