Not a good sign for insurance stocks. If GTA can only manage 4k dividend per share, we may not get better returns from others. Aiico will be the litmus test.

well unless the disproportionately large tax is industry wide (which i doubt), I dont see how other insurance companies (barring any write off's) would not dwarf this dividend payout. I guess they paid off back taxes which would/should explain the huge tax provision

Earlier in this thread, it was pointed out that most of GT Assure's PAT was gotten from non-operating income. Last year, they made most of their PAT from disposal of Real estate. it is not hard to see why their results look so poor.
