Default Investing in Nigeria online

Hello

I am interested in investing in the Nigerian market. Primarily, I will be looking to look at for IPO's and new share offers and purchase them.

My question is, how easy is it to do this from the UK? All my efforts to enquire online has not gained anything. Apart from phoning my relatives in Nigeria, there does not appear to be any other way. Does anyone know of investment managers in Nigeria who can do this for a fee?

Could you give me the right information? I have been to different forums and a lot of people appear to be asking the same question as I am.
How do I get in contact with Mountain Investment and securities?

If mountain investment and securities are very good especially for people based abroad they should have a website, everything in nigeria is slowwwwww

paragon can you kindly post their contact details including their website if they have one instead of the owners name

cheers

hi Dis Guy, one of the pains of investing in nigeria is that most broking firms do not have websites. those that do have are the big players like IBTC, Zenith capital Markets etc, but they are very few. The irony however is that these big players require huge amounts of money in order to open accounts for prospective clients. most times, they range from N500,000 to N1,ooo,ooo.

The choice is up to you.

Smile Investing In Nigeria

Hi Paragon

I am new to the Stock Market. I have so far been buying shares through relatives. I like so many others need the services of a reputable/reliable stock broker. One that will buy/sell shares at my specified price.

Someone also suggested using two stock brokers to avoid putting "eggs into one basket" Any advice on this? Can you point me in the right direction?

Stockbear

hi stockbear,
well, the most important thing when getting a broker is to make sure that there is understanding between both of you. Yes you can have more than one broker, but also remember that your attention will have to be focused on both of them. Some people use more than one broker based on the volume of thier transactions, it all depends.

Well, there are good brokers in nigeria if you settle down to locate them.Which would you prefer- using two brokers that will end up trading fraudulently on your shares or using one that is 100% sincere. See, it is not the number of brokers you use, but getting one with INTEGRITY.

Stay cool and welcome to StockmarketNigeria.com

I had a similar experience. I recommend www.cashcraft.com. They are so good I opened an account for my wife too. I was sick of having to fly from London to Lagos to transact stock business. I have also opened account with them for more than 10 clients of mine. If you need help email me at Naijaforward@yahoo.com

Naija4ward,

Thanks for this information about www.cashcraft.com. I have been searching for similar information for sometime. A number of people will like this, especially people outside Nigeria like me in the UK.

hello there ,
if u want to get in touch with someone in cashcraft, well i have been in touch with them as am about to enter the Nigerian stock market too ,one of their brokers have already contacted and so far i would say their response to my questions or any other thing have been good .
Their broker told me i can start with as much as 10,000 naira and i think this is good ,they have branches in several cities in Nigeria,i have also seen that their site is up todate with the capital market in Nigeria as i get current price of Nigerian stocks daily from them .
the fees they charge for ur buying and selling of stocks for a client is somewhere below 5% which i think its not bad ,and this includes all government tax and VAT .
you have option to let them use their own discretion with ur money, thats you allow them to use ur money to trade and buy shares for u without waiting for ur confirmation,
you also have the option of confirm before commitment, this is when they could advise u on some good stocks to invest in or sale ,but you have to give the final go ahead .
i have the contact of one of their brokers who is working in their head office in Lagos ,if you would like her contact ,do let me know here or send me a private message and i will send them to you .

hope this helps .

I'm based in the states and I've been using Cashcraft since Mid 2005, there website has a ton of information and a very high uptime, there analyst/account rep are knowlegeable and respond and carry out my instructions immediately or asap, there charges are industry standard in all I'm quite pleased with them.

Hi everyone
I have recently opened a cashcraft account without stepping foot in Nigeria.
I downloaded the forms from their website.
I then called up their head office and asked to be put through to a Broker and scanned them across. I explained to him what my circumstances where and he opened the account for me within a few days and emailed me my account number and CSCS details
I arranged for a bank transfer to their account and have been trading ever since

I must say the service is a bit slow but i was impressed that i was able to get things up and running within a week

They do have an online broking service but it is not fully functional and not updated frequently.
To buy/sell shares you have to call or email depending on how urgently you want the transaction carried out

I also recommend actually calling the head office and asking to speak to a broker or manager directly

Not to sound arrogant, I guess at this Age it easy to get want one wants on the internet. I read Uk newspapers on the net and when am free I can go as far as reading the Newspapers in Australia. Mountain Securities should have a website and if they dont forget them. I use Cashcraft since I decided to invest in capital Market.
