Please note that clubfreedom is not a mutual fund and has NOTHING to do with stocks. It's just one of these phonzie pyramid schemes that takes from peter to pay paul until the bubble finally bursts.
BE very clear on what you are getting into, i repeat it is not and it is not close to a MUTUAL FUND in any way.

When I started our club sometimes in May 2007, I was aware of the knotty legal issues that will arise especially because of lack of guidelines in setting up and managing investment clubs in Nigeria. So to get around the initial legal hurdle, I decided to start with my friends many of whom have know me for 15-20 years. To get their buy-in without a full scale documentation wasn't difficult. Then as soon as these friends saw the benefits, they invited other friends who had similar trust in them. Today, we are about 35 members (and still growing) with almost N20million investment. We are web-based and because of this, transactions are viewed online and this makes it easy for some of the members outside Nigeria to see how their account is running. So far, I think we are doing well.

Thank you for the update. How do your members outside Nigeria make their contributions? Do your club have a dom. account and use CBN or bureau de change exchange rate?

Wow i have been off this forum. Well it seems hot again here. I have some thing extremely private arrangement and have a few friends in it now. Because of legal issues and large minimums required to go public, it's just a friends' affair and so far we are happy since begining of 2006 when it was started.
However i would support setting up one as proposed some where in this forum if progressed positively as many people together would give a bigger push with all documents and registrations legally worked out.
