New Investment Club

I have this idea about an investment club that will focus mainly on private placements. This will allow little savers (like some of us) to partake in what is essentially a market for the big boys.

This is still at idea formation stage so comments are welcome on how one can make it work.

My little idea will be that people that use the same stock brocker can form this kind of club where the brocker will use one name of the club member and when the company is listed then the broker will transfer to the various members their units and the transfer fee will be shared equally

Not exactly sure what you mean by when the company is listed. Also investments club is not the product of individual investors with the same brokers coming together. It is members pooling funds, start a club which they give a name. Then the club (in its name) will open an account with broker(s) and all transaction by members will be carried on their behalf by the club. Internally, what it means is that all the cost associated with transacting business in the market is actually borne by all members.

I want us to show more seriousness to this suggestion. I see a good prospects in this type of resource combination. I am convinced that it will lead to a big investment opportunities and members will be a lot better for it.
I will suggest that those that are interested should continue to indicate interests in this forum and we can begin by discussing on how to plan the formation ,membership and investment strategies to employ etc.

Hello guys, you got one here. Am more than interested, actually am into one investment club already and to be honest it's not a bad idea. Joining more won't kill. It hurts seeing all the big boys partake in the PP and leaving us to feed on their left overs when it get enlisted on the floor is really terrible.

Since PP are not really regulated by the NSE, though risky but the risk can be shared equally among members and it wont really hurt compared to you taking all the risk of the PP alone and when you look at the reward it's amazing

Hey Guys,
While I am interested in joining the investment club, it appears like this club will look like a mutual fund where the members pool their resurces together and invest in Private Placements like you suggested. However, my concern is that Private Placements are issued to institutional investors or wealthy individuals. so I am not sure if the club will be able to access the Private Placements issues. I hope we are not confusing IPOs with Private Placement.

I have a planned work out for 25 members investment club, which we pool our resources together and the contribution will be uniform and every member has to participate to continue to beam his serchlight where we have to put our money for a 5 year period
