hi,
the stockmarket is a market place where people(investors) buy and sell shares through intermediaries known as stockbrokers. A share is a proportionate share of a company. So if you have shares in a company you own a part of it. You get to share in its profits(and Losses) and if its a good company the price of its shares eventaully go up and you can sell at a profit. I guess you should read the free ebook. It should introduce you to the stock market.
