KOD Gods love be with all the days of your life. Am a graduate of IFE, studied chemical engineering, but I don’t find my field appealing to me right from my university days. I always flare for the financial world, and I have being striving to acquire more knowledge on this. KOD I need your help to get more expose to the financial world. The trading has started. I sold 9000 units of RT Briscoe today at N3.01 and bought 26,500 units of Aiico at N1.03. The cost of transactions caused a drag on the portfolio and it is underperforming both on a daily and inception-to-date bases.

The portfolio is taking some serious hit but none of the stocks have hit the sell trigger. I bought 9000 units of RT Briscoe into the portfolio today.

There is nothing fundamental behind selecting this stock. The purchase is based purely on technical indicators. The addition of the stock has significantly driven the risk level of the portfolio up. But how can one make good returns without taking up a little risk here and there?

I am waiting for the market to rebound....

I did not buy any stock on the floor today. The portfolio took a hit but patience is the name of the game. I am eying another stock at the moment and waiting for the right signals pounce.

Meanwhile the portfolio is dragging behind the benchmark. Let's see how long this will last.

I bought Japaul and Sterling bank today.

Japaul is selling at a forward PE of 6.46x compared with the weighted average market PE of about 14.91x. Dividend yield is estimated to be about 8.6%, which is close to the 1 year t-bill rate. The stock has a beta of 1.24, yet it has been resistant to the recent bears on the floor. This makes it an attractive stock to hold in the portfolio.

Sterling bank is selling at a forward PE of 4.62x while dividend yield is estimated to...
