Typically, the Baking IPO/POs take much longer before allotment is announced and share certifcates are dispatched. This is largely due to the verification by CBN and SEC.

In the case of Transcorp, they are not subject to such scuritny, so I wonder why its been so silent from them. Not even an alotment announcement. A general advice however, always plan to have your funds locked-in for some 6-12 months if you buy public offers i.e invest mid to long term....because there are bottlenecks from the registrars after share certificates are even dispatched.

Good luck.

I beg to differ on that one, balaliyu. Did you call six to twelve months mid to long term? That is short term. Mid is three to five years and long haul is longer than five years, usually about 10 years. If you are doing our 2month 4 month deals in Nigeria, you are a speculator and you are not being a bear or bull. The term for people that want to snap in and out in one week is PIGS. According to some Wall Street sayings, BULLS MAKE MONEY, BEARS MAKE MONEY, PIGS GET SLAUGHTERED. I must however quickly add that when you are in the Nigerian market, with appreciations of 100-200% of many share prices, one can not help but be a pig occassionally and hope to escape!

Default Guinea Insurance..is There Something Going On???

Hi all,
What do you guys think of Guinea Insurance. It seems people are secretly starting to mop up. My broker told me to buy even at a premium of N1.2. I trust her and all her previous advice has paid off.
Pls advise. Is there something I dont know??
