If you're looking at Insurance stocks right now, be aware ofthe fundamentals. It'll be nice for anyone who is into Insurance stocks to make a comment about the market value of the stocks vs. the fundamentals. NSE investors have made lots money between November last year and now, Insurance stocks have been part of the goods. But as things even out, the importance of the fundamentals become more emphasised.

Question Which Insurance companies are on the UP?

like as been said above, the insurance subsector in this country is not really encouraging and its because of our attitude of insurance. everyone uses banks but yet only few have insurance... sad!
Which insurance companies have you made a chunk from? Which ones have remained dormant and which ones do you reckon will soon become outstanding soon? Share share share! Or you wan dey make chunks dey go while your people dey suffer?

oseitutu,

i have not invested in inusrance firm before in my life, but i have studied carefuly as event unfold, now i am ready to start insurance firm investment!!!!!!!!!!!!

None of the insurance firm has been dormant since last year, they have all enjoy patronage with massive percentage gain.

the new one will still enjoy for another two weeks before period of depression and then resume upward movement, comapny such custodian and allied insurance, continental re-insurance.
Then most others are at the period of depression, sothis is theperiod to buy before scarcity set in.

I am looking at above name two and host of other such as cornestone, lasaco, soverieghn etc

although this thread is abt insurance firm, but then japaul have been mentioned several time as a cash cow,so i can advice you to buy it, Nascon, the fact that dangote is involve, investor sentiment is enoough ro raise the price,so if u want buy now, but u shld have done that during the special sales, ccnn, i read some where they want to raise money from the public, so u can also wait.

As a new guy, insurance frm and banks are good.

Insurers should introduce strategies to manage post-recapitalisation challenges in industry, say experts
By Joshua Nse

FOR the post-recapitalisation insurance sector in Nigeria to be able to pursue business that would create value for the providers of funds, the operators must introduce wide strategies to meet challenges ahead and the opportunities that abound in the insurance environment.

Yeah i have to agree with dotunk. Mutual Benefits is a strong one. I have about 4 insurance companies, MBenefit has been consistent, and even when market goes crazy, it sustains still.
The firm is aiming for an outrageous 50 billion naira mkt capitalisation though.
ON the bright side, dividends will be paid twice this year.
Entry price though would have to be less than 4.2 to have a decent margin of safety. Thats my opinion
