Default ibtc ethical fund vs arm aggressive growth fund

Hi,

The ARM aggressive growth fund has returned over 86% year to date, while what i have for the IBTC Ethical fund is 52.71% as at November.
The figure for IBTC is subject to your confirmation, while for ARM you dont have any doubts.
Thanks

You cannot really compare the two funds bacause they are two very different products. Aggressive growth fund as the name implies, is more aggressive as most of the funds is invested in Equities. On the other hand Equity fund is a more conservative investment vehicle investing only part of its funds in equities and the remainder in bonds and money market.

Default ibtc ethical fund vs arm aggressive growth fund

Hi,

The aggressive growth fund year end is feb. i dont know that of the ibtc fund.
The post about ibtc equity fund, kindly look through their asset allocation to know the nature of the investment. Its an aggressive fund not a conservative fund. IBTC conservative fund is seperate from the equity and ethical fund. Dont forget IBTC has a guaranteed fund which is more of a conservative fund.
Thanks and tk

The asset allocation of IBTC Euity fund is at closer to ARM's Discovery fund. Therefore, it provides a better basis for comparing performance.

The IBTC Fund has a minimum target allocation of 75% in quoted stocks and a maximum of 25% in money market securities.

ARM AGGRESIVE GROWTH FUND:Asset Allocation
The fund is made up of minimum investment of 80% Equity Security and maximum 20% to Money Market and Fixed Income Investments.

The simple fact that AGF allocate 5% more of it funds Equity Security make it a more Aggressive investment tool. Investment in equity is more volatile, but provide more yeild for investors. On the other hand investment in money market and fixed income is a conservative kind of investment as they carry little risk and thus, provide less yeild than invetment in equities.

You can visit The Discovery Fund - Trusted by more people and download the application form from there, fill the form and submit at their office with your cheque or pay to GTB. You can read all these on this site.
I may suggest you consider the Arm Aggressive fund it is better than the discovery fund - just my view.
Good luck

I have been watching the IBTC ethical fund very carefully. It has actually been moving down with the market. The price yesterday was N2.11. I decided it was time to buy a bit. I actually purchased some in Feb and March at a higher price. I decided that now is the right time to buy more to average down my price. I believe, once the market starts recovering the fund will recover too.

For those who are interested in Funds, the prices are right now good for entry.

The fund will be sold at 2.12 on Friday up by 1k.
