Default What's the cost of lands/property in Akure?!

Anybody on this forum with an idea of how much averagely it would cost to purchase undeveloped or developed lands in Akure, Ondo State?
I am strongly inclined towards purchasing lands in Akure but i dont have much of an idea on how to go about doing so. There is also the worry of losing money to 419ers or traditional clans. Hopefully, the situation is not as bad as it is in Lagos State where things can really get very ridiculous and even diabolical with traditional clans selling plots of lands to 2 or 3 different people at the same time.
So any advise would be very welcome.

My father brought land in the GRA many years ago. The area is now a prime development and someone was asking my father for around N1,000,000 some two years ago. Other places outside the GRA should be lesser than that. Best way however is to go there and make inquiries from estate agents in the city. Best wishes

Cheers for that bit of info faoogoke.
For a few reasons (the discovery of oil and Bitumen amongst these), i am inclined to believe that Ondo state will see some rapid development soon, if not now in the near future. It also happens to be my hometown as well.
I reckon investing in this area would be a good idea.

However, i would rather invest in an already developed property and then rent it out instead of lands. Although i'm not averse to buying raw undeveloped lands either. Obviously, location matters a lot.

If you can give me an idea of which areas to focus my attention on for buying properties in Akure (or even Ondo town) then i would be most delighted. I'm talking about decent areas with the potential for development and access to social amenities.

Any info would be appreciated.

Default Suggest Checking Out Olokola also

The government Web page I googled didn't give much info.
Welcome to the web-portal of THE PEOPLE OF ONDO STATE, NIGERIA

Will suggest you put Olokola in your radar screen as it should have a good potential for landed property investments once the OK LNG commences production by 2010/12.

Interested in finding out more also.

Have you tried the Oda Road area, FUTA Road axis, or Ife/Ilesha road end of Akure,. There are always landed ppts for sale in those areas. Developmet is moving at a fast rate in those area too so value for money may not be isuess. For al i know cost for a plot of land around Ilesha road/FUTA area sold at btw 400-800N at at last month. But ensure that all due diligence are observed.

Good luck
