The NSE’s 5-year growth outlook is to achieve $1 trillion market capitalisation. The NSE wants to achieve this through 21st Century technology strategies, target based business development efforts, strong regulation and supporting regulatory programmes, first-rate investor protection strategies, and growth enabling market structure.
This is like the 3rd time I am coming across this statement. At first, I thought it was an error, but I don't think so anymore. NSE has a marketcap of $56B and they want to jump to $1trillion in 5 years? What is Oscar smoking?

received email about winners of the stock trial on easykobo website.

Dear member,

2012 is gone and a new hope is here for Nigerian stock investors as 2013 begins on Tuesday. This is a good time to sit back and learn from what the top players of Nigerian stock trials did during the last 6 months. Yes these are the transactions of the winners of easykobo NSE stock trials. Easykobo.com is proudly the 1st website in Nigeria to offer everyone with free Nigerian stock trials, season one ended 2 weeks ago and these are the winning portfolios.

NINJA is the no.1 investor in Nigerian stock trials with ROI of 283%, see his stock picks here ( you will be surprised) -

1himself is the no.2 player with a 'buy and sell' strategy of an experienced trader, see his trades here

FEMI ERO is the no.3 player on easykobo NSE stock trials with a 60% ROI using a 'buy & hold' strategy. See his trades here

These individuals show us the kind of returns that are possible on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and this is a perfect advert for Nigeria's investment environment. From these portfolios we can also learn to look beyond just the banking and the big conglomerate stocks.

Once again, we wish a 2013 full of growth.

Thank you.

warm regards,

Good!
Next edition, define the range of number of stocks a portolio can hold at any time.

For example, my portfolio with ft.com has 19-20 stocks and returned over 9% in the last 20 days, starting dec 10. Encouraging diversification options, easykobo should consider in its next edition. Thank u all.

Nice to hear that such Stock trials are now available in Nigeria( Investment One former GTB Asset launched one recently too).

We all know that there had been a rally on NSE in the last two quarters of 2012 especially since the market making activities started.

Not trying to cast aspersions at the winners of the game, but It will be good to see how these players can handle the situation when there is so much lull in our market as seen in the last couple of years. (Looking at the SELL orders of the winner, I could see that most were done after the market-making activities started)

Since markets go up and down, I believe a game like this will help to sharpen the skills of the players in the nearest future. Happy Investing

Totally agree with you. The objective of easykobo.com is to ultimately help Nigerian investors make better investment decisions. stock trials is a means to that end. when easykobo started in 2010, everywhere there was depression and anger towards investing in stocks. easykobo is trying to change that in its own way. stock trials started in 2012, and will try to remain innovative so regular investors like you and me and millions of others can benefit from this. thank you.

Other stocks that delivered capital gains above 60 per cent include: FBN Holdco Plc (75.5 per cent); Airline Services and Logistics Plc (75 per cent); Arbico Plc (73 per cent); United Bank for Africa Plc (70 per cent); Avoncrowncaps Nigeria Plc (68 per cent); Sterling Bank Plc (66 per cent);Dangote Flour Mills Plc ( 64 per cent) and NCR Nigeria Plc (62 per cent).
How could ARBICO make the list? That is the most haemorrhaged stock on NSE.

Rewane also identified 17 stocks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) that he considers attractive buy in 2013.

The stocks are in banking (GT Bank, First Bank, Fidelity, FCMB and Diamond bank), breweries (Guinness, Nigerian Breweries, and International Brewery), building materials (Lafarge, Ashaka and Dangote),conglomerates, (Unilever and UACN) and food and beverages (Cadbury, Dangote Sugar and Flour Mills).

He expects that the stock market recovery seen in 2012 will be sustained in 2013.
