The only immediate remedy i can see, is a mop up strategy, that is buying up the excess supply of shares, either engineered by the much speculated market makers (the 6 mega banks) or the federal government investing the tax payers money like the US govt. is doing now. Outside this, i wonder how long it will take the market to correct itself, because investors confidence is damned too low. i placed a sale order thru my broker for almost two weeks now to enable me reposition my self with a more fundamentaly strong portfolio, till date no show. God save Nigeria.

No, never! A stock market crash can only happen in New York or Europe.
How can our market crash with all the intelligent regulators we have here.
How can our market crash with over 57 billion dollars in excess crude wealth.
How can we crash our market with all the fantastic results we are declaring daily.
How could our market crash when stock brokers tie juju to their waist as they trade and chant incantations between bids?

Lets be real, a stock market crash will never happen here, fasten you seat belts and invest, he who is flat on his back cannot afford to fear any falls, abi?

The highlighted part is the part that cracks me up everytime I read this comment..with this current downturn, maybe some brokers will be tying juju again to cause people to buy their oceanic shares off them
