If you've already bought stocks that have cleared to the account ask your broker to order your CSCS account statement for you. Othewise, just order a small quantity of stocks from the floor and ask for the contract note.

If not, I think you will still need a broker to verify this for you.

If you are worried about your PO stocks being credited to someone else's account, I believe you name will still have to be matched to the CSCS number for the stocks to be credited to the account.

Is there a simple way to view all post since last login or since a particular date? I tried the search earlier, but it requires many other parameters apart from just date!
I think CSCS should make it easy for one to check the name attached to these numbers.

Tell your stock broker to het your account with CSCS printed for you online. With this, you can know if your account number is attached to your name. Besides, your fear of not using the number for any PO may not hold water as your name must match your CSCS account number before you can be credited with anything.

Its just like having bank account.

Hello everyone,
I want someone that know better to explain to me why we need this cscs account, I’m talking about the one we pay 2500 a year for. After log on to my own I did not see any special benefit on it. Before I register with them, there web site allow me to Research Company, check stocks history and many other stuff. Through my broker web site I can check the status of my stock with my cscs number. After carefully check it out I don’t know why I have the account with cscs, but I know for sure there are many expert here that can explain better to me. I welcome everyone comment.

@ Yomik, the usefulness of having to pay N 2500.00 to cscs to give you a stock report is to make sure that your broker is not 'cooking figures' for you.

The report is going to come direct from cscs for you to verify.

You mean I can place order for stocks and they will not buy and it will shows like they bought it, that’s scary. I know nothing is impossible anyway.

This is the number required to be filled into the space of CSCS in your PO form. The meaning of the number goes thus: C stand for central security clearing system, then 1234567 stand for your numerical number while YU stand for your Initial derived from your name.

The other numeric number is your CHN or Clearing House Number.

I am not saying there are many proven cases of such, but the attempt by cscs is to forstall such occurence. Plus if the brokers know there are measures to check their activities, they will be careful not to commit themselves.
