Though i understand Seun's drastic action , i was not surprised at all, i remembered that i warned him in a post or two about the unorganised way some people were posting on Nairaland and asked him to get some moderators, am sure if he had done this earlier, he may not have diabled posting on Nairaland by now .I do hope he gets someone to help him soon as we miss that forum .
now to this thread , i have an intresting scenario . I HAVE abc TRANSPORT shares that i bought early this year above 3 naira , now the price have gone below 3 naira , then i want to buy ZENITH stocks but from the floor (cross dealing) as i expect the price to rally post the lifting of the TS.
Money is not the problem here , but i dont like to lose them anyway , so have this two options ; 1, sell my ABC at loss and use the money to buy zenith from the floor or 2, use fresh funds to for it .
but on the other hand ABC being a transport company might do good business during this xmas time and also with the expansion into parts of west africa, i expect their end year results to be encouraging and should push the price upward, if this assumptions are right then i dont fancy selling them ABC .
So what you guys think ? as i said the money for the zenith offer is not a problem , but i stand to lose more money by not selling ABC now then i think that i should sell it , so i need to know which decision is best .

talking about buying zenith the floor , my broker told me yeah she can get them for me , but i have to buy it plus 2 naira on top of the current TS price , so that should come to 46.09 +2.00 = 48.09
now i have never done cross dealings b4 , but my broker said the extra 2 naira , she would give me a different account where i should pay deposit that and the actuall TS price i would deposit with their brokerage account ,she said this 2 naira extra should go to the onwer of the shares that i would buy .
so guys i would also like to know if this also is all legal .

Sometimes I do take losses if in my calculations; my next move will cover the loss. It is not also out of place to expect ABC to have good results owing to the improved capital plus the season.

I am always shy to do cross deals, since the one I initiated to cross in 2004 is still hanging, FBN has given three bonuses since then and I missed all of them. My money is still tied down and the owner of the shares they wanted to cross to me is still ‘chopping’ the dividends.

I am wary of the 2 naira on top of the official price, never heard anything like that before.

I have not yet heard about the cross dealings hanging somwhere , but i have taken notice of that , the thing is that i hate the delays that come with issuing of certs.
concerning the 2 naira ontop , this is where am a bit confused , cos i have read in nairaland on a thread where this was treated , it seems that paying above the TS rate is part of the crossdealing (i could be wrong )cos there might be others who would want to buy same stock and they might be ready to pay higher to get it if demands are high .
could someone throw more light on this ?

whao! i found you guys here.
i have been trying to catch up with the thread at nairaland (page 277) with difficulty because of the obvious (the lenght of the thread) and i noticed that it did not move again for days, i was happy at first cause i was saying in my mind that i wiil soon catch up.
but later on i started getting worried and started suspecting that something was wrong. i tried to post to ask what was wrong and found out for my self.

believe me it was not easy to find you guys but thank God i found you guys.

i really feel for seun, but he should not get too angry cause every good move (starting a great forum like nairaland) surely comes with a blessing, and certainly a solution will come out.

well on behalf of the rookie`s club of stock market in Nairaland, i don`t mind being a moderator for nairaland at least i can add a little value, if that is what i can give in for the wealth of knowlegde i have learnt and i am still learning.

Pumping, a billion THANKS for this comprehensive feedback.

What would have happened if Access bank absorbed all the excess subscription, especially the one from Stanbic?

I believe Stanbic is still up to buying (or investing in) more banks in Naija. Is there any LAW that stops them quietly buying more in Secondary market? (Maybe they have already started). Is Nigeria getting ready for takeover that exists in developed markets? Time will tell.

I think so, the kind of mergers and acquisitions we will see here in not too long a time will be mind boggling, I am only studying the situation to see how to position myself to benefit from all these.

However, with the expectation of the interim results, if this beats expectations, anything can still happen. So, some element of risk here.

Possibly a turnaround can be expected from Unilever by Next year and joining the train is so dependent on timing. I won't call it a short term adventure. Most folks may be taking position around now but may have to wait a while to profit.

Buying Zenith during this TS and waiting for TS to be lifted should yield good returns. Even after factoring 25% oversubscription from the PO, the projected PE of Zenith is still around 22 (I don't buy the 28B PAT in the prospectus after declaring over 8B in Q-1 alone). This is still lower than the average of 25 (and Zenith will normally accomodate a premium) so I will expect some gains from Zenith once TS is lifted.

So there. I thik you should buy Zenith on the floor NOW but don't miss the PO either.
Thanks pumping for your responce.I think the best to do is to leave unilever and access alone and i have done that and went the way of diamond instead.I have placed the order and waiting for my brokers responce possibly by tommorrow.

Talking about zenith i shall heed your advice.

I saw the link to the allotment. thanks

Keep pimping.

@chokit, let me not sound as if I want to frighten youn cause I have a good qty of diamond myself, but the point I want to make is about diamond and this GDR thing. How will it affect their already listed shares?

Taking GTB as a test case, the value of Diamond may stay down for some time to come, my two kobo worth though.
